Really good idea on the rack mounting. I have an ex Sussex ambulance service Chevy which I have had nearly 20years and done nothing with. Just started converting it and I may pinch your idea for blanking the holes for the lights in the body and add rack side rails which extend down to a cab roof rack. It will help protect my solar panels from branches etc as they will be set slightly lower than the rack itself. Nice job👍

Looks very smart! Shame the original solar panels couldn’t be used as well to give you more solar.
Is there a stopper on the roof sliding rail, so that when you go round a right turn it doesn't slide out and clothes line things 😂 great job so far 👍
