I have to admit that when I am labeling a situation with my birds, it is probably more a reflection of my own feelings than a clear and emotionless description of the situation itself. And as someone who is very emotional with the birds (or animals in general), it might be very difficult to keep an emotional distance and switching to a more rational or semi-professional view. That would be easier for someone who is not actively involved in the scenery, just "outside" of the situation, so to speak, and only observing everything. But at least I can try to evaluate my interactions retrospectively and trying to avoid labels. Looks like I have to train myself much more than my birds 😆
I wouldn’t say it’s unusual to be like you described at all! We are like that ourselves sometimes, it’s natural! What can help is recording sessions, having that outside view or even keeping a diary of behaviours you want to work on so you can take that step back!
