EPISODE 14: "The Tex-Mex Musician" - Louie Ortega
The musical fusion-genre of Tex-Mex is a cultural melding of Norteño, Tejano, and other Mexican styles of music with American Country Music, gospel, Rock and Roll, and Blues. And as the title suggests, it’s a blending of both Texan and Mexican culture with lyrics that are often bilingual in both English and Spanish. The songs tell stories about everyday love and life. Meet Louie Ortega, a grammy-award wining vocalist and guitarist from Tex-mex sensation the Texas Tonados! A Central Coast resident, Louie has been sharing music all over the world since 1969 and has recorded more than 40 albums!
