I'm 2.5 months into my microlocs journey. I started with 13 inches, fine hair, and 279 locs. Everything you are saying is what I have experienced and I know will experience in the future. Thank you for the advice. I'm enjoying this journey so far.

Thank you for sharing your hair is beautiful..I have the same sentiment. I have 240 locs and will be loc"d 3yrs this June. At first I was disappointed based on every one else's count 400+ however looking at my fine textured hair I had to come to the realization that it is what it is. Our hair is unique to us and there's nothing that can be done about it. I've embraced every phase of this journey and I couldn't be happier. My hair is full, healthy, and thriving. It all balances out in the end.

Hey there! Just wanna say your locs are beautiful! I have been loc'd since July 2023 and I plan to celebrate once I reach the year mark. My hair is very thick/dense and I have microlocs that aren't fully mature. Idk how many but I think it's high like in the 400s. I have now lost several locs and it sadden me, but going back to what you said about not comparing locs and loving your own locs, that's exactly my approach. Just like my own locs, I appreciate and adore people's locs.

Thank you for sharing! And yes, we can get so caught up in comparison. I’m sure your locs are beautiful! ❤️

I have that same loc count problem. It seems like everybody has like 250 plus and I have 235, but my head isn’t very big and my hair isn’t super thick so it is what it is, trying to not compare lol love your locs!

Dee I have 212 microlocs. I established my locs so that I would have bangs and my hair grows forward so my edges are not visible to the public. My hair was long enough to have locs that would be seen under my ears. I am 21 months lic’d and I have trimmed my bangs 3 times in 21 months. Trim your locs if it makes you feel more put together. Your locs will continue to grow. With my shorter locs i have never had an awkward stage in my opinion.

Awwwwww, damn um so sorry about your edges but you and your locs are beautiful. I have thin fine hair and when I started my braid locs 2 months ago I had missing edges with 10 inches of hair. I only got 190 something locs and my braid locs are tiny. Today all my edges came back in better than ever by leaving it alone. I only use Sauve clarifying shampoo and rose and rice water spray from Amazon. I realized that I wasn't gonna have as many locs as most people have 😢

    •  10 месяцев назад

Awww thank you for the compliment and sharing your journey! I need to look into the rose and rice water! What is the brand?

I am 5 1/2 month in and lisssssen-- I’m just trying to “trust the process!” They are just kind of blah and I still have some unraveling so when she repairs them (interlock) they become long and skinny than the others. So I have these weird things going on in my head. I’m still waiting for a change & I’ve not seen it. So I’m just gone stick beside em! Your hair is gorg! I had the same issue with loc count - I have 274 and I was like now wait where the rest.

    •  10 месяцев назад

😂😂😂 thank you so much for sharing! I love that you said trust the process because that’s exactly what you have to do! Mine didn’t get full until like 1.5 years/dang near 2 lol

I have fine hair as well, and was so into loc counts before mine were installed. It’s been 22 months & I don’t know how many I have, maybe 300. I am sometimes frustrated with a lack of fullness in the back, but for the most part it’s fine.
My main issue is bunching at the ends. I really dislike that my locs are not more symmetrical. It bothers me to the point that i want to cut them off & not care about losing an inch. My loctician advises me to wait until they are fully mature, so I’m taking MSM & trying to leave them alone. 🙄😂

    •  10 месяцев назад

I love your transparency! I definitely got irritated with my bunching! Just give it time! And congratulations on your journey!
