"Naada Rasagnya" award ceremony - 14 November 2021
Raga Rasagnya’s 4th Annual Music Festival (celebrated from 10 to 14
November, 2021) in association with National Sanskrit University, Tirupati.
It was a five-day musical extravaganza and the stage was ascended by the top brass of Carnatic Classical Music.
The fifth and the final day of the event shall remain the most cherished and
memorable day for all the rasikas and especially team Raga Rasagnya as we had the honour and privilege of presenting our first ever “Naada Rasagnya” award title to the Mridangam Maestro Sri V Kamalakar Rao garu for the year 2020 on the 14 November 2021, Sunday. This award was sponsored in memory of Sri Kolluru Vekateswarlu, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
Naada Rasagnya, Sri V Kamalakar Rao garu had the privilege of learning mridangam directly from great Vidwans like Mridangam Wizard Padma Shri Palghat T S Mani Iyer, Yella Sommana and Varanasi Yagnanarayana Sastry.
Sri Kamalakar Rao garu is highly regarded among the Mridangam exponents
across the globe and his contributions to Carnatic Classical Music is immeasurable & invaluable. Over the last 75 + years he has been preserving & popularizing the cultural heritage of India, the fabric that holds our country of varied & diverse traditions, together.
The auditorium was in a state of euphoria as they witnessed the felicitation program which was followed by an exceptional & exhilarating concert by Violin Virtuoso Sri Lalgudi Sri GJR Krishnan & Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi accompanied on Mridangam by Sri V Kamalakar Rao and on Ghatam by Sri Suresh Vaidyanathan. Taalam Sahakaaram was provided by Sri Kotipalli Ramesh and Tambura by Kum. Kolluru Sruthi Samhita.
Raga Rasagnya is forever indebted to all the legendary artistes for having accepted to perform in our Sabha. All these magical moments were remarkably captured by Sri Sundeep Vanka garu who travelled all the way from Ireland. Raga Rasagnya shall ever be thankful to him!
