i'm sure you already realize this when you rewatched the video but the reason your backdash CA didn't come out was because the meter wasn't refilled from the forward dash ca you did before.
For those who are struggling a lot in doing 720 specifically with Zangief in SFV, the motion should be as follow: left, down, right (u have to actually do it like have circle forward or backward) pause a bit and then execute up, left, down, right and punch. It took a bit of time to get the hang of it but thanks to this vid and the practice I could do it effortless. Thanx for the tips Hitbox Arcade, YOU ROCK! B-)
when I jump in to the opponent I usually do: left, down, right (while in the air), so after I immediately land I press up, left, down, right. It definitely works like a charm!

Can you do an updated version for the new mechanics in SF6? these techniques feel inconsistent now, i think the changes they made were intentionally made toward hitboxes
if you're using this as a general fighting game guide, make sure to check the wiki first spent like an hour trying to do this in blazblue before learning that 720s have to be done in the same direction
In Street fighter IV I standing 720'd a player while I was using Zangief. BTW, IMHO, in Street Fighter 4, Zangief's ultimate atomic buster is the crappiest super in the game. If you see it coming, execute a throw on reflex, or 720 with Hugo or Thunder Hawk during the frame freeze to our prioritize it.

Hi@@HitBoxArcade let me provide some updates as of Today I finally been able to pull Gief 720 heres is how I do it: I Input half circle motion from left to right > right hand press up > half circle motion from left to right > right hand press up + punch. In SF6 just use single punch as if you do 2P or 3P you can get lariat or Ex lariat. I also red the Zangief bible and there is something I disagree or maybe I have been doing it wrong the hole time ever since SF4 Vainilla I have always done SPD as a 225 degre move (not 270) in keyboard would be something like 412369+P or the other way around 632147+P I think you can perform SPD starting from any direction as long as is a 225 degre move this is the concept I have aplied for hitbox and only way I can pull this moves consistently and for tournament play. Thank you Hitbox Arcade for helping me on this.
I hitbox. As a Gief main i have big difficulty for input in street fighter 6 in hitbox particulary for 720 and super with double quarter circle motion. Could we have an update ot these motion for street 6 please! Then i try for one year now and 720 seem as impossible as the first time😅

Yeah trying to do this in a live match is just gonna flat out not work. There is a lot of stuff hitbox posts that have impressive stuff in theory, but it's always done in the lab and never a live match cause realistically you aren't hitting this live, or the 4-frame super that blew up twitter like a year or two ago. Hitbox is just straight up not made for characters like Zangief that require 720 motion inputs. If you have a controller or stick, I would just swap to that. It's going to be far far easier to do pretty much everything for Zangief on not a leverless device. I actually still own my original stick specifically for when I want to play Gief.
Assuming you're facing right, you just press left and down together, slide from right to left, and then press down and right together with the attack button. There really isn't a shortcut to the move, but the input time is very forgiving.
@@imohbalu We created the need for SOCD options and have set the standard for it. Only recently has Last Input been explicitly legal at (some) events. While we are open to providing the option in the future, we believe SOCD Neutral is still stronger for most games.
Hey man, i know its been a few years since the video, but, im still having trouble consistently getting the piano method to work, got it a few times but not to where i could comfortably do it in a match. it might be im not giving the Up button the love tap it needs. i cant get the slide method down at all. do you happen to have any other suggestions?

Every time i do it i need to put an extra jump so the motion goes left, down, right, up, left, down, right, up punch. It makes it way harder please help!
Usually it is about speed. Keyboard is very hard to slide on, so you may have issues with that. Try: Dash (press Up right after you dash) -> Left, Down, Right, Left, Down, Right, Up+Punch

Got a question: I've been trying to practice the standing 720, but even though my inputs look clean it never comes out. I find that I end up jumping. What am I doing wrong?
Frame buffer is your friend. Use a jump or heavy attack to fill in the combo during an animation. Otherwise you'll jump. Try practicing it with a heavy punch and time inputting it near the end of the punch. Jump will work too.
Yea, I give up on the 720. I find 360's come out no prob, but 720 there's no way. In tutorial, I should be able to link into the 720 out of a d-mp. My success rate out of a dash is about 10%, but out of a d-mp I'm never getting it.

I've done standing 720 without the dash on Street Fighter 4. 5 as well, but it's much harder due to less pre-jump frames. Slide tech for the win.

Is it possible to do a standing 720 without the dash buffer?
Zangief is my main and I start 360 / 720 starting in down, back, and forward. Hell even up if I am jumping. Doing this with Hitbox is complicated.

hi is HITBOX SOCD last win or neutral ... i am looking for SOCD last win where you can press back +forward = forward / & vice versa for down + up = up
L + R = Neutral
U + D = U

The 360 motion works great in ST but I can't get this one to work. I think maybe that game doesn't let you switch directions.
ST has more limitations on 360 inputs than SFV.
You can't just drum your fingers from left to right like this? Seems way easier.

I've noticed it works better if I have Cheeto dust on my index finger as it absorbs the sweat and makes it slide without any friction.
