Thanks so much for sharing! I'm a bit of a noob and I have a Canon G7X II that I never really did too much with. But now I gradually started doing more with it. Initially I was bent on getting the Iphone 12 Pro, because it is just so easy to use, but I also love tweaking with stuff if I know what I'm doing. And the 12 Pro is very expensive and continuously on backorder, which brought me back to my G7X. I am gradually learning the settings, and now with this in info, I think I have a good base level to further expand from. Your statement about the particularly strong distaste for HDR gave me a laugh (1:17), and when checking many of the photos made with flagship phones like the Iphone Pro's, I have to admit that regularly they do look kind of unnatural, although not necessarily ugly. Well anyways thanks again, I'm subscribed to your channel now ;-)
I could understand this if you're not able to use a flash in this situation.... I always wanted to have the almost finish product in my camera then do a little bit of touch ups in post..... I think it's now becoming a trend that recovery on lightroom is easier than bringing a bunch of gear just to get a proper exposure in camera. This might help photographers save some money as well...
Thank you so much. I am learning photography and found I was having even exposure fine when it was cloudy. The sun came out and even exposure was too bright. I underexposed in hopes to bring it back what I need as shooting in raw.
Well from what i have learned shooting under exposed it better than over exposed. Because when you blow out your highlights with over exposure, there is no getting them back. many say shoot -1 f stop, i have yet to try this, as i use vintage lenses so i am doing everything maual, so i also say...Oooo that looks good, now take it down one. Another trick i have yet to really give a go is, Focus stacking. becasue someone said it works when trying to fix over or underexposed photos. while giving you a well focused image.
Hey Nick! Do you have a tutorial of how to edit a raw file start to finish? I just did a portrait session with a white backdrop and I’m very new at this so a lot of the photos were dark and orangey. Any direction you can point me in? Loved this video. Very helpful. Will need to invest in Lightroom
Definitely a great detailed video once again. Though, as a bit of constructive criticism, for the last landscape photo, I think it might have been better to drop the blacks a little instead as the image looks a little washed out and lacking of the awesome silhouette look you can get with sunsets.
Silhouettes can look really cool, honestly I barely shoot any landscape these days so i was kinda just showing how it could be applied with the technique.
I noticed that you are shooting a lot of these images at f1.4 and im shocked at how much is in focus on the subject. I would expect the DOF to be so thin.
the reason being for this is that he is shooting his images at 3/4 or full length at 85mm. This tells me he is standing relatively far from the subject, which will actually increase the depth of field on the subject. Had he been closer and shooting close up portraits, the DoF would be much more pronounced.

Brilliant, I love it. This explains what I have been looking for on dynamic range

Hey, I have a couple videos on how I process my raw files. Hopefully this will help you out! ruclips.net/video/1vuMxwstWoA/видео.html
Amazing job
This is soo helpful! Thank you!
You're welcome, happy to help!
Question, are you letting your camera apply any noise reduction before the file even touches light room? Or do you have it set completely off
It's set completely off and these are raw files.
Thank you for being straight to the point

That video (like all your others) is just awesome ! Thank you so much master 🙏🙏
Thank you, I'm glad you like the content! You're welcome!
How I can do the same. On my galaxy 21 ultra ?
Try Lightroom Mobile. I might make a few videos on mobile phone editing if people really want it!
How do you do the same for video? There's a "video" xD underexposed on purpose that I wanna recover. For research purpose xD
lol someone is sleeping in the background :))
you seem to be confused yourself
Or just buy a cheap adjustable ND filter....... problem solved
A cheap adjustable ND filter that will take away 75% of the photos quality.
