    I'm not sure billiards would translate to TV quite so much as snooker has. Especially if Walter was at the table. Still, I can see Jack Karnehm being riveted by a match between Tom Newman and Walter Lindrum - he was that kind of person.

      I remember there used to be a bit of billiards on in the 80s when Steve Davis had a go at it but no TV company or sponsor would touch it today. There's a lot of skill in it and we used to play a bit on our 5 foot table!

      @@SnookerBreak I can see that happening in the 80s - the desperate hope that by getting Steve Davis, ahem, interested in having a go that maybe there will be a resurgence in the game. It certainly takes a lot to be that precise but a game lasting two weeks would make people who think test-cricket boring think again.
