The album begins with “The Prelude” and “Chocobo” - two iconic tunes found throughout the Final Fantasy series, making their first appearances on the Nintendo Entertainment System. Homages to “Final Fantasy VII” follow, with a gentle rendition of its main theme featuring pianist PianoDreams. This track previously appeared as the instrumental for “Lifestream” from Mega Ran’s Black Materia: The Remake. Fans of Final Fantasy 7 will also appreciate the sweet and melancholy “Aerith’s Theme”, and the iconic “Victory Fanfare”.
The series’ next installment, Final Fantasy VIII, gets its turn in the spotlight too, with dreamy remixes of “Breezy” and “Balamb Garden”. The album takes a dark turn with final boss theme “The Extreme”, which is known for its appearance in Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers.
Magical and nostalgic vibes continue with Final Fantasy IX’s “Crossing Those Hills”, “Village of Dali”, and “Song of Memories”. Standouts from Final Fantasy X also appear; fan-favorite "To Zanarkand", best known for appearing in Final Fantasy’s world-touring orchestral show Distant Worlds. The acoustic track "Sight of Spira" (also known as Spira Unplugged) take the form of an acoustic guitar duet, and meme-worthy "Tidus's Theme" features brass and orchestral instrumentation from Pontus Holtgren.

Hey everyone, I hope you enjoy the album! This one means a lot to me, as the Final Fantasy soundtracks have had a giant impact on my life and music career. FF were my favorite games growing up and anyone who's played them knows the weight that the music holds. Thank you GameChops for working with me on this and for providing such an awesome platform for these types of albums. And thank you to Nobuo Uematsu for being such a wizard and composing the most beautiful music I've ever heard! ❤
Rifti! I’m sure this will be amazing (waiting for the premier to start). Just wanted to say that your work is incredible. I frequently listen to your FFVII (both parts), and your Dragonball Lofi, they’re absolutely phenomenal.
@@_Rapture I appreciate it, thank you!
Amazing job!! 👊
Loving this album. I added nearly every song in my Lofi playlist on Spotify(which has many more of your works). Keep up the good work. Loving your lofi versions
I'm digging this album for sure. It's clean and nostalgic for sure. All the good feels.
The Tidus laughing scene addition at 26:18 is just amazing lol
I heard it and immediately came to the comments.
Ha ha ha ha
Its always the little things that complete a track~
I agree!
That scene was SO CRINGEY, but it 100% makes that tune work like a charm and brought a smirk to my mug when I heard it.
I was here before Prompto found this mixtape
Your vids are amazing.
Fun to find you here!
@@jonteguy Where there's good music, he appears.
Nobuo Uematsu was the first game composer I learned about, as a kid. I spent so many hours with Final Fantasy, used my wages from an after-school job to import soundtrack CDs from Japan. This tracklist contains some of the most concentrated nostalgia I have ever known... I hope you're enjoying it~!
It was such a pleasure working with Rifti on this album. After he came through with beats for Black Materia: The Remake I knew he had skills, but with Chocobo & Chill he is showing the world he can hold his own as a producer. Amazing!
I completely understand what you mean about Nobuo Uematsu. Growing up, I never saw the appeal of music. When in the car, my friend would often tell her mom "yes! turn it up!" and I would often think to myself "why? music is dumb."
It wasn't until I was probably a freshman in highschool when I started to enjoy music. But not just any music, specifically video game music. Final Fantasy 7 was the first piece of music I can think of that I loved dearly. I bought the OST several times (mainly because I thought I lost them each time lol).
Unlike you though, I never pursued music as a hobby/career. I instead just enjoyed listening to the art people were creating.
I truely enjoy ya'lls work and I hope you keep busting out amazing jams!
Ha, for me it was Yasunori Mitsuda. Waited two months for that Xenogears soundtrack to ship from Japan to central Pennsylvania when I was like 13.
All of that said, I am loving this Uematsu stuff! Listened to it several times already as I grade papers and write.
Absolutely genius to add tidus' laugh,
I had a good laugh
We all gave him a good thrashing in the live stream over it. But he absolutely sold it perfectly. Loved it.
@Frenzied Unicorn Productions 26:20
I was just spacing out listening in the background and I heard Tidus's laugh and couldn't help laughing myself. When I was in high school, my boyfriend at the time showed me the game with that cut-scene on mute because it gave him second-hand embarrassment. Absolutely iconic!
Everything here is fucking fantastic. omg. Gonna use this as my gathering/crafting BGM whilst playing FFXIV. Bless you.
I literally found this video while I'm mining GSM collectible mats, it's seriously perfect.
Can attest: fantastic mix for Diadem fishing
I've never played Zelda but now I have Zelda photos all over my room. Thanks so much for this awesome compilation!
26:19 caught me off guard and I had a fit of laughter. Genius detail in a fantastic album!
Made me cry a little
IKR! A HA HA HA HA HA HA AAAAAAAAAA
The laugh in the back at @26:20 Hits me in the feels and nostalgia very hard. :'(
Lost it when I heard Tidus' laugh. Amazing choice 👏
Can't wait to see how "Crossing Those Hills" from FF9 turns out, one of my favorite tracks of all time.
So much nostalgia for that song.💓
Your main theme version of FFVII is my favourite lo-fi song ever. Never get tired of listening to it. Congratulations on your new album, Rifti, you're very talented. 😛
This is a heavy album on the 4 ffs that I played the most in my childhood, 7-10, I have such fond memories of all them, This was a blast to a simpler time for me, thank you so much.
Everyone talking bout Tidus's laugh, but nobody mentions the badass use of SFX like saving, casting, equipping materia, or the fact Terra's theme is the banger of the set!
New FFXI grinding music? Yes please.
YESSSSS. This playlist is on par with the Knights of the Round summon. A++
I loved every final fantasy game that was released before 11. The Chocobo Race in FF7 was so beautiful ✨
Hope we get a world map in the next FF7 remake installment. The chocobo look awesome in the game.
I agree! I also thought the series went downhill after X
@@BeegYoshi24 12 is pretty dope tbh
@@riplix20 12 was def a last gasp
Holy crap this is amazing... FFX was the first big video game I beat fully and it remains my favorite game to this day. The little details like Tidus' laugh at 26:19 and the menu navigation sounds early on are top tier. Thank you for this.
Absolutley love Breezy. The background is just exactly like in the game. Was one of the betautiful places in FF8, wich was an piece of art.
These tracks are so special to me and would love to hear more in the JRPG universe. Thankyou for the work you do and allowing content creators to share the music to more ears to listen to.
I literally didnt even get past the adds before it was in my playlist. Keep up the great work!
Been listening to this non-stop since it dropped on Spotify. There's so much love in these remixes!
You can really feel how Rifti KNOWS the music and has taken care to do it justice. The original compositions are not butchered but given the spotlight, while still delivering a heaping helping of that lo-fi flair and fresh beats. The OG hooks and little bits here and there that long-times fans of Final Fantasy music look forward to (looking at you, Sight of Spira acoustic guitar arpeggio
Thank you!! ❤
And a special thank you to GameChops as well for being the platform / foundation through which genius can flourish!
I'm a teacher and I play this in class. A lot. Thanks!
Came here expecting just the Chocobo song… was pleasantly surprised!! Very well done!
the funny bird at the begging, and the tracks are amazing thanks for this!
This is up there with Zelda & Chill! Love it. Bring it to spotify please!
It is!
@@ReavoEnd The legend! Got it saved, downloaded and ready to be my most listened to album of 2022!
Victory Fanfare (FFVII) and The Extreme (FFVIII) are absolutely fantastic. Great vibes for each, and those beats are perfect!
This is perfect!! I have a lot of homework today. Thank youuu!!!!
Been listening to this album on repeat for the past two weeks and I still can't get enough. So good!
I love how this video transports me to different environments through its ambient music. Whether it's a peaceful forest or a bustling city, the soundscapes perfectly capture the essence of each location.😜😜😜
Chocobo is love, Chocobo is life
Nothing is better than a chocobo
iconic the chocobo ff all the time
Listened the last week's your Zelda mixes and wished so hard for a FF&Chill. Thanks so much it's just so perfect.
Oh wow, "Crossing Those Hills" That song defined several years of my existence.
Best part about all these songs are the unexpected infused sound effects like the pointer moving or junctioning magic and stuff, class. The best is the chocobo squark before the beat drops. This is what makes lowfi great its those extra touches which are class. 👍
Glad I found this today. Love the Final Fantasy music and games. Brings back so many fond memories. Thank you for the great work
It's all fantastic, but I have to call out Balamb Garden - just sublime. Those rolling beats have been stuck in my head all day.
„Sight of Spira“ is awesome🥰
Excellent from start to finish.
26:19 bold move.
Love this tunes!
Dope af list. There is just something with the classic Final Fantasy music. Nobuo just carried the franchise.
I absolutely loose my mind when I hear some FF8 lofi mixes. VIII Holds a special place in my heart
Wow. Thank you for this. I finally got FF7 Remake a few months ago, and have been slowly playing through it with my dad. I didn't get very far with FF8 as a kid. FF9 got me through a lot of the early covid lockdowns. I just started replaying FFX. This whole playlist just absolutely sends me and I could cry. Thank you
This was fantastic, especially the Victory fanfare! I hope you do another one of these, Final Fantasy VI's battle theme would make a killer track
This is just freaking amazing! I love this and I love you for making this amazing album. Many blessings.
I gotta say, all of these songs are incredible but Sight of Spira blew me away. So groovy and relaxing to listen too. well done.
Great spin on these classic FF tunes!
THIS IS AMAZING
I almost fell out of my chair when I heard my boy Tidus.
This Is A Masterpiece Mix.
Great work on this!
Absolutely beautiful
Such a memories 💗
nice! need this in my lyfe!!!!
This is amazing. It's really nostalgic and refreshing. Can't wait to check out your other content!
Ugh uematsu is such an amazing composer imo right there with Mozart.
This is an amazing album. Well done!
This is one of the best lofi FF remix albums I've heard in a while. Cheers for the good vibes!
wow is an excellent compilation and yes who played these games know the magic about its music it changes lives definitely
Sight of Spira made me remember In flames version of "Värmlandsvisan".
After reading up a little about it, Värmlandsvisan seems to be known as "Dear old Stockholm" outside of Sweden.
Thanks for reminding me of this beautiful tune.
This is amazing. I love how most of the songs are from 9.
30 seconds into the prelude, I'm here for the count. Smooth work, bud.
The Extreme is deep... A good masterpiece.
I've listened to your zelda and chills for years, they've always brought me comfort and nostalgia like no other..but just now I discover this?! Ff7 is my fave game along with all the zeldas, so this is just peak eargasm day for me. This is incredible. Thank you for igniting my nostalgia flame even more 🥺
So glad you added Sight of Spira. One of my all time favorites 👌 amazing work.
been playing these games since I was a kid and I listen to the soundtracks practically everyday this is the chill I was born to groove with the this groove is so good my compliments to the artist this album is delightful to my ears and a true delicacy
never played FF but this music makes me want to
That was my thoughts and now FFVII is probably in my top ten favorite games ever.
I've played almost all of them and I can tell you it is absolutely worth your time.
why did i not clicked this the first time i saw it!!? thank you!
This is gorgeous. I grew up playing these games and you've mixed them perfectly. Thank you for my new study tunes
Man. It's so relaxing. And I love that I've enjoyed all of these games enough that I know where each song is from in their respective games.
This is the One soundtrack i listen to when i go read a book In the Park, under a tree. I cant pick up a book without having music from this álbum start playing in my head. This isnt just music its the soundtrack to a part of my life
listened to it at work today was amazing!
I hope “To Zanarkand” and “Suteki Da Ne” plays 🤍 FFX forever
They actually played To Zanarkand, My day has been fucking made.
This is beautiful.
Best song at 14:37. Brings back those ps2 memories
Bro these all slap so hard ty
It's been a few months and I still can't make it through this list with completely dry eyes. Not sure if that was your intention. You really did a great job transitioning these wonderful songs into this genre. Bravo!
I always knew Chocobo were chilled
GG all of the songs are hitters!
as soon as the start button appeared and you hear that nice sweet drop.. shiiiii brougt a smile to my face. good shit my dude
This is one of my favorite gems now thank you so much for the dope tunes! ❤️
Really enjoyed listening to this album and gave me some Nostalgia going through the songs of different Final Fantasy games
This is one of the BEST things I've ever heard. I love it! Thank you for this marvelousness! ❤❤❤👏👏👏😁
Blown away by your version of The Extreme. This is great stuff, man.
Great editing on the video as well as superb remixes!
My new favorite album! gonna play this for a whole week
26:19 that Tidus laugh tho
Right in the feels man. Not a fan of FFVIII, but I can't deny that the music still slaps. Your work is glorious, thank you!
Good that 18 seconds was not enough, at least now I know what my ex felt like. 😥
addicted.
Nostalgic AF....thank you for this!
Another banger of a mix! Keep up the fantastic work!
This was like a breath of fresh air to my heart. I will surely be leaving this on loop time and time again in the coming months whenever I need music to fuel my writing or calm me during a late-night work session. Thank you for this gift ❤
Just bought a turn table and can't wait to get this on vinyl.
Yo this is sick for real, amazing work you did i enjoyed every beat and memory. thank you
