    I am still watching this video since I started watching it more than a year ago to refresh. I haven't done the project yet but I have the complete materials already. I hope you remember that you have already replied to my email. Maybe I will write an email again soon just to keep in touch before doing the project. I am still choosing between using a vhf radio or a cellular network.

    This is awesome.. Also while hunting for a similar solution i found this:
    AD22B04 12V 4ch MT8870 DTMF Tone Signal Decoder Relay Phone Remote Control PLC
    which may simplify things for some folks.

    As a mechanical engineer in industrial IoT for a manufacturer whose products you use all the time, I can give you my ideas for use cases; being new to HAM I’m curious why _you_ built it.

    How could I activate a siren with this? Can I hook up the relays to a RCM panel and have the different relays activate different signals?

    Hi !! I bought two of these modules, but when connected VCC and GND, it makes a little fast flash of one led, and nothing else. What do I do ? thanks !

    Hello Rob, like your work mate. Would it be possible to have multiple locations all running off the same frequency? Or would you need to have user ID or passwords to access individual locations to prevent multiple locations being activated at the same time?? Thanks for the post.

    • @robertcloutier8839

      I would modify the code to require a specific password before activating the relays. By the way, the original code is at www.WO4ROB.com

    Hi ! I need to send data from one arduino to another, using two handies, I mean, WITHOUT pressing PTT (like rattlegram) send tx/rx between handies like SoftWareSerial print from one to the other, data interchange without pressing PTT, thanks!

      There's a bunch of 433mhz transceivers that do exactly that for a low price

    Hello Rob. I made a system to release dogs with a remote control for a dog rescue team. Since I donate it, it’s being used to train rescue dogs. It is limited to 40m.
    I would like to implement it with this system as it’s great to receive a confirmation message knowing dog was correctly released and it could be used from further distances.
    Unfortunately ai have no clue about arduino.
    Would it be possible to buy one ready to go from you? I have no problem with the cabling, but arduino is far away from my skills.
    It would be great as ai would donate it to the rescue team to help on their training as one person would be able to do the task there’s usually two doing and sometimes they don’t manage to group to train.
    thanks in advance.
    I can send you a video of the system I made. It’s very simple. I did it with a car door lock and remote by strengths principle.
    thanks in advance

      Yes, I can do that. I only made a breadboard version, but I am working on a completed product that I could sell. I will contact you when I have it done.

    It's worth mentioning that the baofeng is an amateur radio and is technically illegal to operate without a license.

    • @arisoda
      @arisoda Год назад

      that depends on what frequency you use, you can't say "the baufeng" is illegal to operate without a liecense

    • @mjyanimations1062
      @mjyanimations1062 Год назад

      @@arisoda Not true. At least where I live and in most places, non-type-approved radios like the baofeng are strictly for use by licensed operators on ham bands only, you can only transmit on license free cb or frs bands using certified type-approved radios. If you transmit on cb bands with a baofeng, you might not get caught, but it technically is illegal.

      @@mjyanimations1062 yes okay true unless your baofeng outputs ~ 500mW

      @@arisoda All baofengs, even the bad ones output more that that. The higher the tx power the worse it is to transmit with it without a licence.
