I remember going to a Phillie game in the early 80s when Pete played for the Philadelphia Phillies and after the game me and the guys from work went across the street to a large very crowed pub and who walks in after the game is Pete Rose by himself walking through the crowd as just another ordinary person in the place. I remember looking at him as he walked by me thinking one of the greatest that ever played the game, and you would never know it by the way he conducted himself.
