This Sunday, July 7 in Worship
    "Beyond the Clobber: Embracing Love"
In this week’s sermon, we will explore the so-called "clobber passages" often cited to condemn homosexuality and examine their contexts and translations to reveal their true meanings. We'll contrast these misused texts with the broader biblical narrative of inclusion and grace, highlighting stories like that of the Ethiopian eunuch. Join us as we uncover how the Bible's message is not about exclusion but about opening arms and hearts to all people, emphasizing God's boundless love and acceptance. Together, let's embrace a faith that celebrates diversity and extends grace to everyone.
On this Communion Sunday the Chancel Choir, Bay Shore Quartet and our guest pianist, our own Nancy Schwartz will be providing our worship music. The Chancel Choir will be singing Come Share the Lord by Bryan Jeffery Leech and Roland Tabell. This anthem reminds us that communion is a coming together of God’s family. And our Bay Shore Quartet members Shannon Miller, Erin Arnold, Jake Asaro and Michael Rice will sing Jean Berger’s lovely anthem The Eyes of All. And while our organist Jason McNally is on vacation this week, accompanying all and providing piano music throughout the service will be our multitalented choir member Nancy Schwartz. We’ll see you on Sunday for what will be a celebration of communion.
