Did you ever have that one friend who would learn some crazy/random/weird/creepy/fun fact then run around the next few days bothering EVERYONE with it? Well mine is this chummy, punchy guy we call pockets. And POCKETS!!! Ladies and gentlemen…has me on this kick of looking up the lyrics to state songs, on the off chance I’d find something weird. For example, look up the lyrics to Indianas state song, the second verse is about a dead woman that the song writer was in love with, quote; “but she never believed me.” I’m like god dammit pockets😒another borderline unhealthy obsession to add to the list!
I don't know...Jason Ellis rooting hard, or rooting Jason Ellis hard...either way...is part of his problem. (-the term "rooting" is Australian slang...look up what it means)
I've been an Ellis fan since I was a kid. Every time he comes on here he's so raw and open. You can see the growth he's made from his first time on until now has been absolutely amazing to see. He is a prime example of it's okay to not be okay and talk about it openly. Another Great episode Ryan! 💚
Jason, I know you probably won't see this, but I really appreciate you and who you are. Sharing your life and seeing you evolve into an inspiring human is really what we all need.
Great to hear you’re on the right path Jason. I’m at my lowest struggling with sobriety right now and listening to this, I felt like I had just been to a meeting.
Congrats on 7 months, Jason. You’re in the right spot. Always remember physically, emotionally, spiritually, check yourself and if you’re too low, ensure you take the power back from the negative and deposit it into your positive energy by doing your stuffs.
Damn, Jase is pretty snappy at the moment. Sober Jason is aggro Jason😅. But he’s owning up to his BS and taking his sobriety seriously, he’s setting a great example for people going through it. Keep kicking goals dude!
No one is as vulnerable and puts everything on the table like Jason. I wish he would be kinder on himself or at the very least be proud of himself for all the growth hes done❤❤❤
Jason is his own worst enemy. He villainizes himself more than he should. He’s a good dude. He’s got a beautiful heart. Like he said. He shit on a lot of people and hurt a lot of people but the difference is, he’s aware of the pain he’s caused people and he’s trying to make it right and that’s what makes you a better person. You might beat yourself up, Jason. But no one has a bigger heart than you. You’re on the path of redemption and you’re doing amazing. We’re all insanely proud of you man.
It is. I’ve always loved Jason. Funny enough, I was introduced to him when Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland came out on PS2. He was a secret character and I always used him. Never knew he was a real person until about a year later and I heard his Sirius XM radio show and loved how funny he was. He’s come such a long way. 5 years ago, he’d never be able to sit there and tell you how fucked up of a person he was and how many mistakes he’s made. He was perfect. He didn’t make mistakes. Nothing was his fault. He’s come such a long way.
Ellis is so important to me as someone struggling to come to terms with my demons / sobriety. And he's so humble and honest and himself. I wish him nothing but the best as well as you Sickler for giving the storytellers this deeper platform ❤
Thanks Jason for being so authentic and not holding back pain or shame that you feel. It's so natural for us to hide that but we all benefit from seeing others open up about it, especially when they're people we look up to, normalizing it and helping us self accept. Take care bro.
I've listened to Jason for a long time now and I'll always root for him. He inspires me to be a better man. Also Ryan I love your interviews, you bring out the best in people!
I could tell from Jason’s first time on here, he was a deeply feeling child. Complicated and broken by societal concepts but profoundly beautiful and significantly more deep internally than most could ever understand, let alone be. Keep being you, Jas.
Jason is the best human ever that’s way to rough on himself!! That man is a true inspiration to everyone and everyone can and should learn something from him!! It’s true awesome that the comedians have welcomed Jason and made him part of their big family!! Thank you Ryan for being a good friend to Jason!
I’m surprised at how far he has come. This actually makes me respect Jason big time. Clearly his head is exactly where it needs to be. That’s great work done. People won’t do that for me, but I’ll say I love seeing it in other people. The honesty, I’m all about it. Taking accountability! Owning everything and putting things back where they belong. It’s all so important. And I’d say when I had to beat my addictions years ago it really forced me to make that honesty a home for me. I think that really is such a teacher for people, or it can be anyway. I don’t think I will be around so long. At least I always tried to support people I felt were doing the right thing.
You may have missed him say "I'm a walking apology to everyone, I'm going to say sorry in advance because if you knew me I probably did something bad to you that I don't even remember."
I have been a fan of Jason's podcasts (didn't follow skating much growing up) for a few years now. I am VERY impressed with how much Ryan was able to coax out of him during this!. Great interview questions! Thank you to Ryan and Jason and to everyone involved in putting this one out for the masses ❤
Idk why I'm sharing this on RUclips but here it goes: Your interviews with Jason Ellis (and also Justin Martindale) helped me come out to my family. Love the HoneyDew and love the WayBack. Team Sickler! Team Nightpants Nation! PS. You were great at the Bourbon Room. Keep doin yo thangalang my G
Two thing, Smear the Queer was nationwide, like that pesky gerbil rumor. AND Jason is a very gaurded man, like so many of us, we refuse to let another human break our hearts ever again, and that seems healthy AF 😊
0:01 Damn... we need more open books like Jason. His story, inner dialog, and realization make introverts like me more comfortable and hopeful with my shortfalls.
I remember when I was a kid, another kid at football practice asked if I wanted to play that game. I just said “why do you call it that” and a parent cut in and just started explaining the game. And I didn’t realize it at the time but the parent knew it was wrong but kept it going. It’s crazy
Damn... Hearing Ellis couple of years ago, I thought he was LOST morally. Glad to see he came to his senses. Bro don't beat yourself up too much! The road you take now will be hard but you'll get there. Ask Sicklecel to let you crash at his place for a couple a months and get some sht rolling!
Every Jason ep is wild. Either last time on HD or another pod Ellis was saying he thinks he’s full gay now. Poor guy has been so hurt he doesn’t know which way is up. Sounds like he’s getting there though and so glad to hear it.
That’s part of his issue and why he is so messed up. He’s been hurt and has caused so much hurt for himself and other people that he just doesn’t know where to go. Which I think is why he’s diving into sobriety and figuring his shit out. You don’t have to like Jason, but god dammit you do have to respect him for the growth he’s shown.
Jason. I know you are going through it right now and it's a learning curve but have been through it and still working on it. It sounds like you are in the guilt stage which throws you all the way over to the other side, and in a selfish way you make the apologizing about yourself again because you think it is going to get rid of that feeling. The best way to do it is find the middle line and forgive yourself. Start living the change, which it seems like you are getting around to. Every person you have ever hurt or did wrong has already gotten over it. Don't bring it back up to them. A short apology goes a long way, and them seeing the change and effort will be the only true way to fully come around. Good luck, brotha.
Jason bro, your the fuckin man. I really respect where you are in your life. There was a time I seriously needed to do something very similar. It feels good to say sorry, I fucked up. Take it easy man. Respect and blessings
I don’t think I root for anybody as hard as I do for Jason Ellis.

Ellis is the man to me. He’s unapologetically himself. At all times and I respect the dude. He’s such a good soul.
Joey Diaz doesnt like him. All i need to know. Kids no good.
Glad he’s screwing his head back on. His lifestyle was out of control. Him being such an open book is much appreciated
Yes indeed, i agree to the fullest with both of you. He is awesome.

Everyone’s favorite lost puppy. Always rooting for you Jason!

I comment this every time Jason is on a pod lately, but I’m honestly so happy for his growth as a human and a comic. ❤
The Episode we all NEEDED. Jason is A Great Comedian!
Yeah and he has one hell of a backside air
Idk about great comedian.
Congrats on 7 months, Jason. You’re in the right spot. Always remember physically, emotionally, spiritually, check yourself and if you’re too low, ensure you take the power back from the negative and deposit it into your positive energy by doing your stuffs.

I love Jason. He’s so real, and his honesty must be so freeing. He’s hardcore honest with himself and others about who he is and what he does.
I love Jason so much! I wish I could give him a big hug! 😢 it's not easy to be that vulnerable.
Jason is his own worst enemy. He villainizes himself more than he should. He’s a good dude. He’s got a beautiful heart. Like he said. The work that he has done on himself is super impressive and also heartbreaking.

Every man on this earth could take a little advice from Jason and they’d be a better man.
Keep killing it Jason! I have been a fan since the 90s skating days. You got this!!
I could tell from Jason’s first time on here, he was a deeply feeling child. Complicated and broken by societal concepts but profoundly beautiful and significantly more deep internally than most could ever understand, let alone be. Keep being you, Jas.
I've seen several interviews with Jason Ellis but this is the best 1 by far.
