This is a sentiment I have seen time and time again on channels like this one and it's ridiculous. It's just proving that these people only consume mainstream media and should keep their mouths shut when it comes to the actual culture.
I can appreciate people who are just discovering hip hop and don't really understand that there are levels to this culture as far as mainstream, underground and deep underground but hip hop has been thriving, especially without mainstream contribution. Joey and the rest of the east has been a large part of that. So, the casual narrative there is ignorant and disrespectful.
