One of my favorite U2 songs. That Edge guitar. He’s the reason for their ultimate success.
Gosh, how did the Edge ever come up with this? It’s really brilliant. No one sounded like that in 1980.
This is why The Edge is a genius... Didngt know any theory and made all this uup by himself.... Completwlhy unique and one of the most soulful and emoptive riffs ever made in history.. Doesnt neally get the props he deserves
I was one of the 10 million people who was at this show. We went to the show in SLC Utah the previous day and drove to Denver for this concert. We took a chance on the weather and the radio station said it had been canceled and we damn near turned around. Thanks for a great video on their best song. It sounded like 3 guitar players. The Edge has made a living off that delay effect.

Great song, great sound, great playing Edo! But what exactly with the 2 AC30's in your Axe?
The 2 ac30's are set slightly different and summed together: the one on the left is a little cleaner and a little brighter, the one on the left is darker and a bit crunchy, and I use different IR's on the 2 amps to give it more of a realistic feel as if they were 2 different amps as opposed to same amps with different settings. Also, the different settings yield a different reaction to playing dynamic, creating some cool random stereo effetcs depending on playing dynamics even if the signal is actually dual mono.

I don't have any U2 presets in the axe fx other than the basic amp preset.. I just made this up for this tuto and didnt even save it.. in any case, it will sound different depending on the setup / guitars / external fx / fw version etc, so no point in sharing it. (Isn't that a polite way to say "no"? lol)

Say what frets you're using around 6:00, it's not clear enough with seeing your fingers on the neck.
Are you taking about the main riff?? That’s g&b strings, 9/9 - 7/7 on the first chord, and 9/8 - 7/7 on the second chord
@@EdoFaiella Thanks, and are you barring with the index finger across the 7th fret over EBG on the 'chunks'/2-string 'chords'? When you're hitting the high E are you barring, or is your finger tip fretting/ringing out that note?

+Edo Faiella, It does seem to bring your strat close to sounding like the pups in the 76 explorer (mid range frequencies).. maybe an accidental discovery :)
i guess any humbucker can add some mid range to a strat, but trust me, it is not a vintage voiced pick up at all, it does sound nothing like a 76 explorer!
If I put 210 ms into my strymon timeline the delay is way to fast, yours sounds way longer.
Leading Light Media make sure the subdivision on your timeline is properly set. In any case, delay should be set to 8th note (210ms is the 8th note delay at 143ms)
