Very nice Shanmukhapriya alapana ... so far we had Kunthalavarali, Natta and Shanmukhapriya ... so many surprises in the making ... all by his illustrious singer/vainika/vaggeyakara father Padmabhushan Madurai TN Seshagopalan ... "Chinthayami ..." ha ha Santhatham bhajami ...

Brillinat and flawless renderings with the BEST mridangam support made this a remarkable kutcheri Shri TNS Krishna should be proud of. He must make everyone of his sishyas to compulsorily listen to this kutcheri as a big lesson.
Because of the brilliant and correct way the alapana was handled I knew it was Mohanakalyani. His dad excels in this raga that was the brainchild of my old native Travancore Kingdom's Swathi Thirunal Maharajah. Mohanam + Kalyani = Mohanakalyani. !!! Ha ha ... nagahayanan kulirmekhavarnan ... !!! What sweet selections in this kutcheri paddhathi. I had had a terrible 2024 with so many sadnesses and financial blunders. I had wished for 2024 to end as fast as it could. My rasika elder brother passed away in December. This sad year ended with some cheer for me thanks to this sincere kutcheri with the best pakkom [all humble] by this unclebrated TN Seshagopalan Krishna. His Mohanakalyani and my favourite Sahana [all rasikas take note: As per Prof S R Janakiraman saar Sahana is NOT Sahaaaaana or Shahaaana; all shorts : Suh -- Huh -- Na !!!!!}. Thanks you TNS Krishna

Sri. Trichur Narendran is a humble but great artist. His mridangam style is true bhani and all newcomers should carefully listen to how he uses sarvalaghu patterns in the main parts of the songs. TNSK is as flowing as ever, fantastic singer he is. Shanmughapriya reminds of his illustrious father. He kept the pace and energy throughout the concert.

Chandrakauns is the Hindusthani music's Shanmukhapriya; this kutcheri special in that way; including a Hindusthani raga too. Brilliant kucheri paddhathi by Shri TNS Krishna. Where is his Padmashri? After that sweet and brilliant Devi sthuthi shloka in chaste Sanskrit ... Sahana [Suh-Huh-Na] song "Karunya vaaranighim sada bhajami Meenakshi" -- an obvious tribute to Shri TNS's hometown goddess Madurai Meenakshmi !!! His son has brillinatly with "SURRENDER-TO-PERFECTION" mode of presentation of this lovely SAHANA song. How can anyone resist Sahana? "Deena rakshakim dinamanikoti sadrusham samanarahitha sarva prathapini ... somasundareswaraswamini !!! jaganmohini kumarajanani rajasekhamaninim ... !!!

Shanmukhapriya was indeed a tribute to Muthuswami Dikshithar [The Vainika-gayaka 'guruguha' -acharyam!!!] by the vainika-gayaka T N Seshagopalan saar!! ha ha ... now a sweet Tamil song for Murukan in Hindolam. Shri T N S thrived in the alapana of Hindolam; now he has his own song in that lovely Hindolam !!! ha ha ... mridangam is being played the way it ought to be played -- WITHOUT drowning out the singer.

Brilliant layavinyasom by my friend the gifted Trichur "Chittazhi" Narendran, prime sishya of Padmashri Palghat R Raghu, a Mathemtics 1st class BSc graduate of Victoria College, Palghat, Kerala. From the same college Padmashri MDRamanathan got a 1st class BSc degree in Physics!
