Although I bought an original Ortlieb buckle which fitted perfectly it was not a two way system to adjust the length of the cable. You had to use it to the full extend of the cable. So I bought another one from a different brand with a two way system similar as in the video as long as the width of the cable to attach was the same size as the newly bought buckle. It worked wonderfully. I guess Ortlieb rather like to sell new panniers than to provide sensible spare parts.
Glad it was helpful. Ortlieb sells the stealth strap replacement kit, which has you replace the entire strap and buckles for the different male end buckles. But, the new ones are the same sorta dodgy quality as the old ones, and you'll go through a male buckle again in a few years with regular use - frustrating. We'll see how long my new buckles last (a while if lucky).
i love that my back rollers "and yes thats what they are actually called" are from the early 90s... its when the buckles and all that stuff on them where a loooooooooot higher quallity...
Thanks for showing. I’ll try it this way 👀

Thanks, I thought it was a brain riddle how to remove and fit the new buckle but now I know that a small saw has to do the work.
Thanks for the helpful video. Where did you buy the replacement buckles? Please include a link. Thanks!
Thanks, I got a pair of replacement buckles (for 25mm strap) for a few bucks on amazon and repaired a broken buckle.

What size did you use for this?
Any eBay / Amazon URL link to this particular buckle? I would rather go for original black buckle color.
Ortlieb sell this part for five or six euros. Part number E117.
