    *Bought a 500 for an ultralight rod. It's very smooth **enjoyable.fishing** recommend casts great. One odd thing- the bale wire is a bit heavy diameter in my opinion for a reel of this size. But a great purchase.*

    I went to the tackle store yesterday with the sole purpose of buying a Stella SW-C 6000. I felt the TwinPower and it immediately felt more rigid, lighter and as smooth as the Stella. The Stella also had a lot of play between the bail arm and the rotor (even Alan Hawk picked up on this). I couldn't justify paying so much more for the Stella which would just mean more ball bearings and a reel bag. This new TwinPower is solid and it feels super good🔥🔥. The 6000 model even came with a power knob like the Stella (just a different colour of course)

    Took my brand new Battle II 5000 for a spin yesterday for the very first time and I hooked a 20lb yellowtail using a Ugly Stik X2 (medium hard) rod ruclips.net/user/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . This combo was recommended on some website and it did not disappoint me. The reel is smooth, the drag click is pretty cool cause i think it adds to the excitement of fighting the fish, personally the drag is my favorite part. I use braid and 300 yards will fill the entire spool. This combo is my main setup from now on although I have to disclose I am new to fishing.

    I was wanting a saragosa 6000, but I think a twin 8000 with 55 lbs of drag is the killer here for me. I fish for trophy river striper in tennesse and need good line capacity and strong drag. That sounds like a winner. I want a big rubbèr egg handle though

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  Год назад

      55 lbs is bluefin tuna levels of drag. Even the 35 lb drag on the Saragosa 8000 will deal with the biggest striper. We chase yellowfin tuna up to to 100 lbs on the 8000 Saragosa SW.

    Hey man really in depth video, appreciate it. This sounds like the perfect reel almost, is it really that different from one of the new stellas? Want to get a reel for saltwater casting 8000 size but not sure the Stella is really that much better for a 400 dollar increase in price. What do you think?

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors

      I'm a big fan of Twin Power and also the new Saragosa as they all, including Stella have the new Infinity Drive and loads of stopping power with the Cross Carbon Drag. Twin Power is the toughest of the lot in my opinion. It has so much grit and stopping power that you can't go wrong with it.

    Hello. I bought this reel 2 weeks ago. However I am not happy with my 21 Shimano Twin Power 14000XG at all. In my last fishing trip, 3 times my line is broken due to unstable drag. When I fight with big game fishes like bluefin, drag is not smoothness and under pressure it is locking the drag. Do I have to know something or check? Thank you.

    Hi, I have a question about New Shimano Twin Power SW... I just bought a TP SW-C 5000 XG and I have play on the crank, the same on the rotor and I hear friction as the spool goes down (only when it goes down). Three serious issues to the new reel that hasn't been used yet. So, tomorrow I am going to the store with a complaint. Have you noticed anything similar on any of the models did you had in your hands? Thx.

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  3 года назад

      @@ramtalbo51 sorry bud you are correct regarding Silent Drive. The difference is a matter of choice. I believe all of their saltwater line up performs incredibly well as I have fished with Saragosa, Twin Power and Stella for plenty of hard pulling fish like Yellowfin Tuna, Roosters, Funeral Snapper even bottom jigging and AJ's. I think it's a matter of what you are comfortable spending and which reel falls into that range. Obviously having additional features is a bonus and will perform better but if the bearings don't matter or the handle them Twin Power SW may fit you best. For some it also included the colors on the reel, every purchaser is different.

    I am confused about the TWINPOWER_SW_C vs the TWIN_POWER_SW not sure if the guy in this video is aware of the differences. The TWINPOWER_SW_C has HEATSINK DRAG while the TWIN_POWER_SW has X-SHIP. Shimano does a poor job communicating the differences and I have yet to come across a video properly comparing these two models.

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  3 года назад +1

      The Twin Power C is not available in this market. This video is for the Twin Power SW, not the C. Also, the Twin Power SW has the Heat Sink Drag and yes XShip which is a totally different technology that works on a different part of the reel. Double bearing supported pinion gears in Shimano reels have been around since X Ship first showed up in the North American market around 13 years ago. Odds are good it was released earlier in Japan as their product leads the way to expanding into other markets around the world. They just tweak the product to suit the different needs of different fisheries be it gear ratio, drag, features etc.
