As per British Pharmacopoeia & Book of Pharmaceutics-II (by R M Mehta) Suppositories are Solid Dosage Form. But few local authors wrote it as semi solid dosage form.
Yes, Classification has been done by local authors. As they considered Suppositories as Semi-solid dosage forms on basis of the semi-solid suppository base which is being used in the preparation of Suppository and on the basis of its physical property to melt at body temperature (usually solids does not have the property to melt at body temp.) Hence they categorised Suppositories under Semi-solid dosage form. But we have to follow official books(Pharmacopoeia) And as per Indian & British Pharmacopoeia Suppositories are solid dosage form. You can find the reference regarding the same in Indian Pharmacopoeia. (Page# 750, IP 2010, Volume II)
Good question. Book of Pharmaceutics-II Author R. M. Mehta ke book me aap ko reference mil jayega that Suppository is a solid dosage form. Aur Indian Pharmacopoeia bhi yahi kahti hai . IP 2010 Volume II (Page no. 750) As per Indian Pharmacopoeia Suppository is a solid dosage form.

Solid dosage form hi likhna chahiye kyuki hum official books follow krte hai.
Aur official book me jo likha hai wahi sahi hai
