Dan, not sure if you did a show with a Shai or Luka build as yet. But what do you do, if in a real draft and you get pick 3. Do you go with Luka regardless of playoff schedule or with Shai?

A small critique, I think you might have gotten a little too hyper fixated on categorical scarcity because you ended the draft with 8 guards. In a real draft that team is going to have issues with games played on high value days. Hartenstein or Poeltl at the 6/7 turn would have helped shore up rebounds and blocks. I liked your analysis on which big men to grab at the 8/9 turn.
Yeah maybe 1 of those guards could have been a forward, but I'll deal with it as it comes. Plus my late guys are not locks to be on my team in 3 weeks anyway :)
Three things i don't understand in head to head fantasy basketball world..
1- why Giannis and Sabonis are so highly overrated. (most 2 overrated)
2- why people like the punting strategy so much.. instead of more balanced team.. even if it is head to head..
3- why Tatum is so underappreciated.. yes he goes in the first round.. but late first as an afterthought.. he should go for sure before Giannis.. he should be 6 or 7..

Hahaha, as a fan of roto I'm inclined to agree on a lot, though I'll note that in #2 if you're in a competitive h2h league you really do need to punt something because being good in everything doesn't win in the playoffs. Need to be GREAT at some stuff and brutally awful at others
@@OldManSquad for #2, i do semi punting as the season goes along to strengthen my other cats, just not when drafting.. when you punt during drafting you lose value for drafted players.. so instead of hitting value, you start to look into your team build up.. losing value in the process.. in the playoff, my mentality is to stay flexible as much/long as i can so my opponent doesn't relax on his cats and give him a run for his money on each cat he wins..
a common mistake people do on draft day is that they draft for the playoffs.. you don't draft for the playoffs. you draft for the season and you adjust for the playoffs.. through waiver and trades..
@@mohamadyassine3953 I find trades a lot easier to make in roto leagues for whatever reason but you're not wrong. the season is long with many twists and turns...

Hi Dan, thank you for this, it is very helpful. Have you considered punting fg% and steals when drafting wemby? I noticed my team when doing mock drafts with wemby is much easier to build if I do not have to consider steals, since a lot of high usage guards later in the draft do not provide much defensive numbers. Love your videos!
It's hard for me to convince myself to do it since Wemby could very well go for 1.5 steals/game out of the center spot

I rarely worry about wing depth. Those guys with SF eligibility pop up on the wire like 3 per week haha

Even if he does, he's still not a positive for a center there. You typically want a POSITIVE FG% impact from your center. Neutral is actually kind of a negative for that position

Its not early if he's not gonna make it back to you. when your draft at the turns sometimes you have to bite the bullet and reach for the player that fits your build
@@saipris Agreed. People sometimes get so fixated about a player being "too early" or "too much of a reach," but at the end of the day, NO ONE will even be remembering that after the draft. Get your guys, get the players that fit your build, and maintain that focus. That term "reaching" has been thrown around wayyy too often. And in no universe is JJJ a "reach" at pick 24. Now taking Brook Lopez at pick 24, now THAT'S a reach.

Your redoing IS bad again...what about this team if wemby go down?? You LOVE roto , why you dont pick a few well round players?? And you dont pick Big men again...maybe you must choose the BEST players without punting from the beginning
