Marched the show in Allentown (1980- Spirit of Atlanta) I still remember Float introducing us to Will Rapp. This show seemed to be more important than most others for some reason and the atmosphere was different. They had this board with the prelim scores posted as I remember. The crowd there seemed to really appreciate all of the corps regardless of their favorite. I kind of remember the walk up to the entrance gate and seeing all of the fans hanging out. I was a young 20 year old who had never been to Pennsylvania. It was cool to see people cheering as they heard the music from Atlanta and the big brass sound that we brought from the deep south. Memories.
I remember my first show performing in Allentown and having to push a marimba or any front ensemble instruments up that hill was a killer. But man was it worth it in the end.
I hate to be a doomer, but the 2022 edition of DCI at ATown was a disaster. The seating has always been bad, none of the aisles are painted, and you are too far from the action. Worse than that, the bathrooms are utterly not designed for modern use and inefficient, and on a 90 degree day THEY RAN OUT OF WATER!!! Been going to Atown for 25 years, but this was our last. A terrible fan experience from top to bottom
I love the professionalism of the first question "tell me what the hell is going on over here?"
Y'all are making offseason so hard😫

Last week my family got a hold of some clean drinking water for the first time. But at least we aren’t doomers.
Sincerely,
The taxpayers of Allentown
