This season resolved every mystery behind Zhang Qiling and his past, and finally revealed why Xiao Ge and Wu Xie's bond is so strong. The last episode is my favorite from all the Lost Tomb series.😭 Fatty, Wu Xie, and Xiao Ge living together.... my heart😭❤️
I thought the actor did just fine as older Wuxie. He was very different and it took me a while to get used to him, but I was impressed by how he managed to do the emotional moments without going too overboard. I still like the more sassy portrayal from Reunion, but this whole show was actually pretty ok.
Different as in he wasn’t Wu Xie at all, not even from the novel which this drama isn’t following correctly either - it was like an AU character saying Wu Xie’s lines with an awkward parody with a creepy uncle vibe. But each to their own. I’ve been corrupted by seeing multiple high calibre actors play Wu Xie in the past.
i've already watched all of the episodes.. i like it.. it's a must watch series.. it completes all of the missing holes, which I was curious about. it connects the other series (ultimate note, heavenly palace, tomb of the sea, reboot).. But (still) but, this last episode, when xiaoge came out from the bronze door, i expect moree than just a cold hug.. i expect wu xie would be crying happily while hugging him. it's more natural to cry, you know, wu xie must be feeling relieved and happy, he completed all xiaoge's missions, faced challenges and sufferings against the Wang family, and then met him again after a long time..?.. i imagine wu xie would be more emotional when he met him. well i read this scene on the novel and it's also unexpected, i must say the adaption's of this reunion scene's still better than what is written on the novel
In the book they don't hug. Only Fatty hugs Xiaoge. And Xiaoge didn't give Wu Xie any mission to accomplish. As much as I love what scenes from the novels they did adapt the drama strayed too much from the actual book canon. Also it changed a lot of the lore surrounding Xiaoge and the Zhangs. The reunion in the novel is bittersweet, but there's the mention of THAT song and the poem that clearly convey how much they both missed each other and the depth of their bond.
100% agree finally someone understands! Granted, it rare they ever adapt the novel properly (Ultimate Note came close). And it’s most likely ppl watching it haven’t read the novel so they’re like “oh it’s fine.”
@@EspressoSJ I got into DMBJ through Zhu Yilong. I started Providence for him, fell in love with Huang Junjie's Xiaoge and the Iron Triangle then watched UN and read the novels in between. I love UN the most as it captured the essence of the novels and the characters the best. I still adore Huang Junjie's Xiaoge and love Xiao Yuliang's and Zhang Kangle's versions as well. The drama adaptations I did watch have been mostly fine, but strayed a lot from the books unfortunately. And not in a good way.
Ah that's wonderful, you're a Zhu Yilong fan! ^^ Yes they do stray from the books - ironically even when the author NPSS makes his own dramas - including Tibetan Sea Flowers, Sand Sea, and Reunion- they stray from his own books as the previous production company he had nothing to do with did (they did get UN right though at least). I'm use to it at this point so I just let it be, but it really matters when they make an error in the casting.
@@umichandesu that's right, nothing even happened in the book.. yeah NPSS said that he will continue to write adventure behind the bronze door2 or tibetan sea flower2, i dont know.. so maybe there'll be another information and connection to xiaoge's mission and reason why that after xiaoge guarded the bronze door, there's no one's obligated to guard again.. Yess they develop strong bond and poor wu xie missed him a lot😭

Speaks volumes at the fact that the PingXie reunion behind the bronze gate didn’t even trend in China vs. Ultimate Note’s conclusion. The younger Wu Xie trended and had been used for their promo stuff but this guy? No disrespect but he can’t act at all, never mind playing in dmbj shows but in other dramas like three body problem he’s just …yikes. And it has nothing to do what his age or looks because Qin Hao much older and way better. I’m low key sad.
That hurt me so much i really like dmbj all thanks to Long ge ❤ i tried to read the novel before Reboot get aired and watching all seasons... I was sure yilong will neel it as always perfectly SO i need to be feer and watch their acting 'cause long ge is unfair When it's come to acte he slay everyone 😂 And you're right this dude acting yks ! There are lots of other dmbj shows coming up including: Lost Tomb 2 Heavenly Palace in the Clouds with the same young Wu Xie from Tibetan Sea Flowers (filming right now). Then Sand Sea 2. Mystic Nine Part 2. Heihua movie in Eastern Europe. Southern Archives (which is a historical saga with the Zhangs). Another Lost Tomb film with the iron triangle. The author discusses them on his Weibo. YiLong gege adds his own flavour to a role which is fun. I think with the reunion at the bronze gate is that it happens after Sand Sea after Wu Xie has been running around like a widower waiting for his xiao ge to return and he has this mad recklessly to him - more mature and such which sadly was non existent in this Wu Xie’s performance compared to say Qin Hao or YiLong in Reunion

In adventure behind the bronze door Wu Xie is innocent as before and at the end Xiao ge finally return from bronze door but in tomb of the sea Wu Xie was become so strong after lose Qiling and was waiting for xiao ge's return. Welcome to inconsistency of the dmbj franchise. Technically it is adventure bronze gate first and then Sand Sea. But you see they decided to skip Sand Sea and just put the reunion in the last episode of the prequel to Sand Sea. They’re living together on a farm with a vegetable garden - that’s the plan in Reunion the sound of the providence epilogue. But they are making Sand Sea 2 so I don’t know what that will contain. You are correct Wu Xie isn’t suppose to be innocent when they reunite after 10 years…yet that’s how he was portrayed which makes zero sense.

This season was so good in so many ways. 😭💖 I do wish Zhu Yilong was saved for this one, it would’ve been great, but the younger Wu Xie actor looks a lot like how I imagine book Wu Xie looks. Not exact but I’m glad they included him in the show. 💖
