Best star family and an amazing night sky in Bath I remembered thinking I wish my heart attack was that day. In the quest to die happy I'm glad the Carter's still are the family they are.
I love Carters fun fairs. Life would not be the same without the traditional local fair arriving. I appreciate the hard seasonal slog they do. Always welcome to my home town Coventry. Come on bring your Victory Dive Bomber back, much missed.
This fleet seems to be beautifully maintained , hats off! Perhaps I should ask if they could use a driver. I'd pay to drive one of the Atkinsons. Keep it up! Cheers
Carl, you should ask Joby Carter if he could use your services, as he is having to do a double run from Hersham to Maldon due to a shortage of drivers May 2022.
Great bit of driving around the 37:30 mark, coming into the grounds :) The driver of KPK 744K did an excellent job. I wonder how it was getting out of the grounds? It's a very hard, tough job , not short of it's stresses and strains.
@ peter piper these rides are vintage so you can't rush them just like you cant rush a restoration on a Ferrari 250 GTO where as thurstons are modern rides just in case you didn't realise this
Thurston's used to have all the old big rides, all pulled (well mostly) by Diamond T's ! What an awesome sight that was, oh and the noise of their engines, truly fabulous sound!
Not sure what the law for those folk is. They are special licence under 'Showmans Giuld Licence'. I remember going through London in a double trailer plus traction unit measuring over a hundred feet. Extra exceptions may be made for vehicles with special adaptions such as hand steering on the rear of the third trailer to allow tight turns to be turned in to. Routes are often planned out with traffic departments before setting off. So as Showmen they get a bit of a wider allowance than than normal. But if some one wanted to move a two hundred footer with 150 wheels they could get a licence. It is all about getting approval and letting control departments know before hand. So Police can divert or escort abnomal loads and use local knowledge to plan the best route.
I would definitely make a journey from Scotland to see these trucks and rides. Simply amazing to see such care and attention that have went into them
Great family rate down to erf, .honist, woth.millions, thede.showmen, ya.wunt.fink.it but.thee.arr. hmm,

Great showmen👍
they really love their dodgems what about the other rides
what are the sheets that the trucks are driving on in the gateway made of ?
I think they are just rubber. They help just enough to stop the heave tires sinking 10 inches in to the soft earth.
its a hard resin , there called alterna mats $200. a pop . used them in my tree bus. work very well .
Where was the Skid ?????
Why did they move the dodgems
I uesd to go to that fair it was big
Oh no its raining!
herein the usa we have limits on trucks can pull
do you? it seems your trucks pull a lot of trailers
yes thank you. I myself did work circus an carnival here. I often find it is nice to see what other countries do. Again thank you

MsJinkerson rubbish!! Most fantastic reliability from British built lorries
you would think the town would know enough to widen the gate
To MsJinkerson
It is a Victorian Park. With a Victorian gate post. It was widened. In Victoria's days. There are two other gates in to the same Park.
