I have 2 of these. I originally bought an orange one in 1999. When my brother died, I inherited his. They sit side by side in my studio and they are what I use live. They are light and easy to carry. And they sound great.
Capacitors - just open her up reheat solder joints on the biggest capacitors, all of them. The reaaaaally huge ones, iirc, there are 4. Worked like a charm. Ask google, everyone else says the same

I can confirm that a vs65r can do it. I have on a video with the audio of me playing a Fender Stratocaster through just a vs65r ( with single 12" Celestian speaker) along with a bass player and drums. To the best I can recall, it was running around 6-7 volume on the "dirty" channel, no extra foot pedals or modern electronic adders.The drums are Ludwig. No PA assist. Recorded with 2 mikes on a cassette deck. You can find it under- "GET THE FUCK OUT BY THE SWING'N JOHNSONS. Sorry. I'm not the best guitar player of all time, but having used and owned several Marshalls. that one was probably my favorite.

i have the same amp but the distortion sounds so bad...i checked the speaker but with another amp it sounds good. So the problem is the amp itself...anyone could suggest me any mod to make it sound better? The Distortion is really cold and fizzy...

The distortion sounds good to me, although I do use pedals with it mostly.
Buy a celestion H30 70th anniversary and the amp will scream again !
