I took the Coast Starlight during Christmas 2019 round-trip to my family in California. Portland to Sacramento with a San Joaquin connection. It was an amazing journey. I still tell people stories about it.
Nice video. I've taken the Coast Starlight many times and coast trains before there was Amtrak, sush as my favorite The Lark and the Coast Daylight. Both teams left out of the old beautiful 3rd and Townsend station in San Francisco California. And by the way,, 'i' in Salinas is pronounced as if it was an 'e', not an 'i' sound
Also, not to be negative in anyway, but you mispronounced 'Salinas'. It's a Spanish name meaning "salt flats". The best I can type out the pronunciation is "Sah-lEEn-us"
Ah, I hadn't heard the station called out from our roomette, thank you for that correction. I had went with the pronunciation I once heard for the town of similar name in Kansas. I could be wrong there, too!

Correct pronounciation is Sa-lee-nas. Also....San Loo-ee Oh-bis-boh.
