I have done this multiple times. Absolutely not necessary to remove the grill.
They look good. How ever I think I would wire the DRL to the LEDs only and then installed a second turn signal bulb in place of the original DRL.

How ya feelin now? Lol. I’ve had these lights for about a year now and they look like shit. The plastic is yellow and barely translucent and half my LED’s are out because of water leaking inside

When u unlock and lock the truck do the strips light up? Because they are tapped into the blinker
I have a 2004 Avalanche and you do not need to take the grill out to remove the upper and lower headlight.
Nope I've got a 2004 2500HD 6.0 and don't have too. Maybe cuz it's a Duramax? Ik my grills the same & I put bottom light in 1st didn't think would go in last lol but didn't look either. Oh maybe that's why he took the grill out! Cuz I'm almost positive u couldn't get bottom light in last with grill in.

My guy is 100% correct. I have a 05 1500 and didn’t have to remove the grill assembly. What bothers me is there is no mention of the vent tabs you can unscrew to vent moisture from the light. also not one person who makes a video installing the U bar’s show how to adjust the low and high beams. 🤦🏽♂️
We do that to make room for all the wiring.

Just got these headlights and they look amazing but i have a question. There is an adjuster for up and down but is there an adjuster for left and right? I can't seem to find anything that'll move them left to right. I only see one adjuster.
There is only the one adjuster

Nice video. However, they work with park lights and not active DRL. Do you still have you DRL bulb in and does it come on normally during daylight driving? I noticed the LEDs strips didn’t light up until I activated headlights or Parklichts. I followed your instructions to the letter. Thnx

I have one problem with the lights maybe you can help me out? The DLR on the bottom lights work perfectly turn signals and everything but the top DLR Will not come on at all everything is wired as you said, but both upper unitsDLR do not come on. Help please thanks.

The Sundae Drive reseal the silicone them when you get them . Thats what EVERYONE does to keep moisture out

Yes, as long as the lights are on the led strip will be on

I think I'll take it to the shop ,it looks to easy.
Installed mine today. Great look. Install was a breeze. Replaced all my bulbs with LEDS as well. My only question, is there a way to get the LED parts of the headlight and turn signal housing to run while the DRL is activated? If I run a jumper from DRL hot to the hots on the LED’s will this activate them all the time but still allow them to blink when the blinker is activated?

Loved the video. You probably know by now, but you can do all that work without removing the grill. My question is how did they stand up so far? Did you have any issues with the LED trim bar burning out? Would really appreciate a reply. Thanks in advance!

Is it the same wiring for a chevy Colorado 2010. I have the same headlights but don’t want to wire it wrong. As long as I tap it into the turn signal they should be on all the time my headlights are on? Or should I put it into the low beam..
I think the turn signal is on top in the Colorado. So it would be opposite right? Go from bottom and feed it up top.
How did yours turn out? I've been looking at getting them for mine.
Paul Hale they turned out really good, I think I tied them into my running lights. They didn’t fit really good into the slots that held them into the body, so I had to rig it to stay in but they look good. It won’t let me post a picture or I would.

Any yellowing or discoloration yet? I bought some new headlights for my 05 Silverado 1.5 years ago and they're yellow as can be and faded.
a good practice is to put the bulb in a straight line to help with moisture like an "I"

Can you install the lights and not take the grill off? A deer decided he wanted to bust up all the headlights and everything but the metal bumper on my canyon. I just want less of a headache until I can get the parts to repair all of it correctly.

Thanks for the help I was able to fix it the problem was the wire conectores were not piercing the truck electric wires. But it’s all good know.👍🏽

My top LED strips aren’t working but my bottom ones are. What do I do to fix this?
You probably don’t have a good connection from your red and black wires on top headlight housing to the the lower 194 bulb wires. Check to see if you have any power on the hots (just use a light circuit tester).
Wouldn't it be easier to insall the bottom first?? Then the top??

Would of been better hooking them up to the fog lights. Or tappin into the fuse box. Looks funny connected to the turn signal
That would make no sense hooking them up to fog lights. Then when you turn your brights on, they go off. You want them constantly on.
