Love this course! Played the Irish course in the morning, straits in the afternoon, and the river course at Blackwolf the next morning with the Taylormade team a few years ago. Nice little 68 on the Irish course probably didn’t hurt my enjoyment of it. The cottages are definitely not for individuals above about 6 feet tall though. 😂

If you ever come back to Wisconsin check out the Wisconsin dell’s area. Some nice courses in the area. The Wilderness has Wild Rock golf course which is amazing.

Shot a 78 this year from the blues. It's crazy how windy that place can get due to the lake.

Bird from the Curb 😆! Love it. And yes, we still use Shot Scope watches for most rounds but we don’t track our stats when we play a scramble format.

Question about the Irish course: is there some significance to bunkers with hard pan sand full of gravel? I feel like if I’m paying over $300 to play the Irish I shouldn’t have to sacrifice $180 wedges because the bunkers are worse than my local muni. I mean if this is some sort of “tradition” to links golf, then I don’t want it. (I’ve Never been to the UK coastal golf courses so I have no direct knowledge) It’s been a few years since I’ve been on the Straights but I don’t recall having a complaint about the sand on that course on the same property

OK, I want to come play golf in WI.
I’m in GA with a few weather questions:
What months are the first and last to be mostly in the 60s?
      What are the driest months?
What months are best for avoiding biting bugs?
      Anything else I should consider?
      Thanks.

WI weather is really tough. If you are looking for 60s and not super wet, you are probably looking late September/October, but the courses will have had a full season of play on them. I would say my favorite time to golf is Late July/August as it isn't as hot as mid-June/Early July but also the courses don't have as much play on them yet. Weather can still get up into the 80s but usually is in the mid-high 70s. Our season can be super long or super short, just depends on how long our winter is (for example I played a round last year in late November and it was 65 and sunny... but it can also be a foot of snow by then. Regarding bugs, just depends on the courses you decide to play, usually the nicer ones don't have to worry too much about it. I would say if you were traveling up to play... I would say late August/September would probably give you the lower temps and less chance of rain. The other month you could look at is May (usually in the 60s), but that month is pretty hit and miss on courses being up to par depending on how fast the snow melts. Hopefully this was somewhat helpful... trying to plan anything in WI is always tough.

Thanks for all the good info.
I certainly don’t mind 70s and 80s, I asked about 60s to find out when the REALLY cold weather was over.
      Thanks again.
