I debated between the two forever, I am a traveler who works from my computer. I went with the dell xps 7590 15 with 512gb ssd and 16gb ram instead of the 7590 base model of 256gb and 8gb ram because I saved 200$ and I got to finance the upgrades instead of paying cash for not a noticable difference for me. Now between the XPS 7590 and the XPS 9300, I decided to go with the XPS 7590 not because of the price, because the price difference was only 80$ but because I wanted USB ports, a full HDMI port, a better battery life, and a wifi port that was upgradable and not sodered in like the new xps. I don't care about the bigger track pad from the new xps because I use my logitech mx master 3 and hate track pads. Dongles are shitty for people that like to use 2.4ghz products because bluetooth devices are unreliable. I don't care about the better sound because I only use headphones in coworking spaces. Literally the only reason to get the new xps is if you don't mind dongles, and you want it to be a half inch smaller in depth. I gotta admit the new xps looks a little more aesthetic but I just can't justify the other losses.
Totally buying the new XPS 15 during Black Friday. The non-touch i7 8-core just looks perfect to me. Plus, the interiors are upgradable, so it doesn't matters buying the lowest RAM and Storage configurations
Great comparison. Sometimes newer isn't necessarily better so if I had to pick I would go for the i9. OLED technology is where its at for me. Very informative video. Thanks for sharing.
I ordered the new XPS 13 9300 with 1080p screen, 16gb memory 512gb SSD hard drive with extended warranty. I thought about it for a few days and looked on dells site again. I ended up ordering last year's XPS 15 7590 from Dell with 4k OLED panel, i7, 32gb memory and 1 TB SSD hard drive and extended warranty for $200 more than I paid for the new XPS 13. For me I don't need the extra power of the XPS 15 but I want the most for my money so I'm glad I rethought this. I'm going to be sending back the XPS 13 when it arrives.
Personally waiting for the Dell XPS 17. For me these things are mobile laptops first. I don't care for gaming if I have to plug it into the outlet to get full power, but when it comes to editing and other programs I hope these can edit at full power when running on battery like how the 16 inch Macbook Pros behave. It makes such a big difference when you're out and about.
I would love the 17 but I imagine it'll come at a price. But it is annoying when they throttle the GPU because it's power hungry. But I suppose we'll see, I think it's being released in June.
@@EverydayTechchannel Nvidia just need to make laptop GPUs that fit within 80w-100w max power draw with 8GB VRAM like how AMD do so it can run on battery power at full speed and also off PD 65w powerbanks when you don't have an outlet. Macbooks are so good at this and it's a annoying as a PC windows person that I'm close to switching
Well, I ordered one of the old ones from Germany. They cancelled my order because I live in Austria. It is just ridiculous.... I guess I am going to wait for some deals around Christmas time. Prices are definitely too high for a secondary system for me. Unfortunately, I need good colour accuracy for image editing and there are not that many alternatives on the market. 16:10 aspect ration has definitely an advantage over 16:9 when it comes to editing.
Hello thank you for this video. What about the old xps 15 come with i9 9 Gen and the new xps i7 10 Gen? is this something to take in consideration? About ports the new xps 15 has hmdi port, slot memory, usb the same as the old xps 15? Thanks :)
I know it's not an in depth or equal comparison, it's just to get individuals to think about what you can get for your money and if you need an the extras. But that works both ways. The reason I choose the i9 to compare is because I think it's the most obvious choice for the older model.
@@EverydayTechchannel Oh your video is great! I just wanted to know if makes lot of difference i9 vs i7 taking in consideration the cost each laptop. I was told that hmdi does not come with the new xps 15. Thank you :)
@@EverydayTechchannel why is the 19 most obvious choice for the older one? why not the 15" i7? btw, in the older ones you can upgrade the ram and SSD yourself too .
So for someone who’s wanting to use it more for movies and watching series in bed (without external speakers or headphones) which would be better? A bigger screen or the OLED screen?
I'm looking for a similar to gaming laptop but with fingerprint reader. 16 ram not soldered, dedicated gpu, i7 CPU, no touchscreen and must have fp reader, minimum screen bleed to none, any recommendations Sir?
There are a few options, the thing that'll take a bit of time is finding out which ones have removable ram. You've got quite specific requirements so it shouldn't be too hard to find something.
@@EverydayTechchannel actually I ve found only 2, gigabyte aero and dell xps. I read Aero has screen bleeding issues, so that's a red flag. And could go easily with a gaming laptop, however for a strange reason they don't have fp reader, so if by any chance, you know any other, I'll appreciate you let me know.
@@warr1 Check out the Asus zypherus g14, looks pretty thin compared to other gaming laptops, and this one has ryzen 4900 +rtx 2060, don't go with intel, they overheat and drain batteries faster
Can someone tell me if the new GTX 1650 ti can run basic games like Fifa, NHL, Skyrim, Battlefront which good graphics and smooth? I am engineering student so I need a good computer for SolidWorks and I don't want an ugly gaming computer. I want to be able to game as well without the computer melting or anything crazy. Or would I need to get the xps 17 with the RTX 2060. Thanks!
At the moment it's a difficult question to answer. It will be able to play games but there are several factors to consider, what settings you will have the games set, will the laptop be plugged in as Windows laptop are notorious for throttling the GPU power when the power be cable isn't connected (but we don't know if this is the case with this machine yet). And like you say it's not a gaming machine, those machines are bigger for a reason and are designed for gaming use. I'm sorry I can't be of more use but I hope this helps 👍
Can someone give me some clarification. Im torn between the two . On the dell website, I can get the 15 inch i7, 9th gen 9750 with 32 gb ram and 1TB memory for $1900. The new i7 XPS 15 inch 10th gen cost $1800 as well, but it only comes with 8 GB ram, and 256 gb memory. Im leaning towards the old but some of the information on this video clip was off when he said the NEW XPS has the same memory/ram, I understand i can upgrade the new xps ram and memory but it would be an extra 400$, thus bringing the total for the new XPS to $2150 vs the old XPS same specs at $1900.
You can probably get the the lower specs of new XPS and upgrade yourself which will be cheaper. But you can also go with older model to save money, maybe even buy warranty. Depends on your needs, but I think the new i7 10th gen you're talking about has 4 cores vs the 9th gen has 6 cores.
For people that maybe be doing 3d rendering, 8k video editing, and really heavy use software. Not too many people will need it, but people will need it 👍.
