    I bought a set of pans. After a month using it one of them start to peel I disnt know why it was peeling of on the curb side. I was going to throw it away. But I was dissapointed because I just recently bought it. So I decided to do this process from this video. It took me a week to do it with the metal scrubs, Because every day I scrape a little at a time. I didn't want to hurt my hand. It was worth the effort.

      why not aluminum?

    • @imasahm
      @imasahm 4 месяца назад

      @@jamesharris8583 - Old post, but I'll reply anyway. Aluminum has a tendency to leach miniscule amounts of aluminum into your food, which is then expelled through urine. BUT, cooking acidic and alkaline foods make it much riskier to cook in an aluminum pan. Stainless steel is better. Cast iron is good, but not every meal or you risk iron poisoning.

    Recap: Buy heaviest available grit sandpaper at local hardware store, begin non-stop sanding, six days later you’ll be done.

    • @imasahm
      @imasahm 4 месяца назад

      I used 80 grit for a small fry pan and didn't sand hard - just simply sanded. It didn't take that long - and the non-stick was not that old or scratched-up. After sanding it all off, use a succession of finer and finer grits until you have it smoothed back out. You can even use tooth PASTE as a buffing cream to get some shine once done.

      A couple tablespoons of salt and the same amount of oil rubbed into the metal for a few minutes and wiped out does a wonderful job.
      It's how we did it in the restaurant business with aluminum pans we cooked eggs in.
      Can't wash it though. Washes the salt out of the pores. Just slrink9in a bit of salt and oil and rub around for a minute, wipe it out and heat on stove like cast iron to sterilize it.
