I’m new to OBS, so most examples of its use actually help a lot. You present real world problems and solve them, which I like. Will watch this again I think. Wondered what that projector function was… .
just what I was looking for! Just made a ppt presentation only putting words and images on the left side of the slide. Now I know what was annoying me was having, as you put it, the presentation mode take over my zoom screen. brilliant! thank you, and now i have options.
Thank you Cat for a very clear explanation. I was having a problem recording my keynote presentation in Zoom. Your tip on creating a Fullscreen Preview in OBS solved this problem. Thank you again.
Thank you for the great tips, Cat. Maybe also helpful, I found PPT Mirror tool to convert the slides into any format for any iOS/Android devices to be used in a teleprompter in zoom, the tool works on every browser and any bleutooth remote is compatible to switch the slides.
@Cat Thank you for providing this instructional video. I have an issue and I'm not sure if you have run across this before. I have a user that would like to have iPad as second monitor with Mac book to use PowerPoint in 'presenter mode'. This works of course but it completely takes over the screen on her Macbook to show the actual presentation. The user only wants the presenter mode to be displayed on the iPad to control the presentation but not have the actual presentation show on the Macbook. Not sure if this is even possible but wanted to pick your brain.
Great explanations, however it seems that each viewer has to make their own corrections and the view they see cant be controlled by the presenter. Is this true?
Trying to get the teleprompter concept when using Ecamm during a Zoom meeting. My reason for using the teleprompter is to look at the live Zoom group (teaching 10-16 people) using the teleprompter (so they feel like I'm looking directly at them). Currently using an iMac-M1 with dual monitors. Because the iMac-M1 only allows one additional monitor, I will lose the 2nd monitor (extended monitor) as it is replaced by the teleprompter monitor. Is it possible to have the teleprompter monitor display only the gallery view of the Zoom meeting using the iMac for Ecamm and Zoom simultaneously? I have a MacBook Pro that could be thrown into the mix. Thank you so much for your feed back...greatly appreciated!!!
Thank you for this video. I am a MAC user, and I have been using Keynote because of the flexibility I have with screen sizes. I tried putting PPT into Individual mode, which helps but the option to use it in Presenter Mode is disabled so I cannot see my notes or slide sorter. I want to use PPT because I like using Mentimeter with the PPT plugin. MentiMeter does not offer a plug-in for KeyNote. PowerPoint should pause fancy feature development and catch up to KeyNote with their functionality in this area.
Has anyone found a way to have the presentation being shared, but the notes still visible somewhere else so that you can refer to them (like a teleprompter)?
Another Fabulous Video - you really make these complex tech resources understandable. Question - as you were doing the set up for PowerPoint - how was this set-up being automatically saved in OBS as a Scene or Source? Or do you have to redo this set-up each time you want to use this Profile?
Thank you! Once you have the scene set up for PowerPoint, you do not have to redo the set up, but PowerPoint does have to be open for it to show up in OBS.
Have you had issues of quality when streaming obs/ecam output into Teams/Zoom? Low quality camera video-blurry text. IME, Sharing the desktop screen (at least within Teams) looks much cleaner than streaming from OBS. Maybe, it’s using screen capture compression as opposed to video-centric compression? Because of bad output quality, I gave up. BTW, the direct mp4 output from OBS looks great. Personally, I’d love to be able to stream (to Teams) from OBS-so much more engaging.
Great explanations, but I wonder if the better 'quality' of using Zoom share is enough to merit not having the simplicity of just going through slides (with animation) directly in OBS inside the 'cut-out' as you've made. Haven't tried either way yet, which is why I'm asking.
If your graphics are large enough, I have found Zoom participants don't mind the resolution of the virtual camera (using the Group HD option + spotlighting your video).
YES! This was great. I LOL'd at the "squiggly incorrect spelling line" bit. I despise that. Especially when it IS correct, and I feel like I'm being inaccurately judged with an audience watching 😂

Brilliant! Thank you for such a wonderful overview of these alternative presentation modes!
You are a genius ! I've been searching for this for months!

Crystal clear instructions and very engaging. Fantastic! New subscriber.
That clears up a lot of confusion. Thank you!

I used to come and get knowledge about OBS but nowadays I come to see you
You are beautiful
My crush💕
How have I been using PPT for a gazillion years and I never knew how to change to a window?! Cat, you’re amazing. So helpful as always.
OMG Thank you! This was extremely helpful!
Thanks Cat... Good Tips ~
*QUESTION* : What screen recorder are you using ?
Thanks Cat. In PowerPoint for Mac you can choose View Full Screen avoiding the need to use Share Portion.
Amazing again Cat - I learned so much on this episode and will start using it right away!
I'm so glad to hear it!
Loving your videos. Thank you. Just got Ecamm and loving it. Which USBC lav mic do you recommend please?
Great explanations, however it seems that each viewer has to make their own corrections and the view they see cant be controlled by the presenter. Is this true?
How could I learn this step by step? I have a Mac and am new to OBS and steam deck but want to set up everything!
You have saved my day Cat!
LOVE your videos.
Great content and great delivery! So helpful. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Much appreciated!

Cool stuff. I’ve been figuring this out for ages. Thanks 🙏
Very welcome!

Great point about losing the ability to use presenter mode. That should be available regardless of fullscreen or window.
Amazing content @cat! Really help me level up my studio / presenting game.

I do not the "preview window" option in OBS. What am I missing?
Another excellent presentation
Thanks again!

If you are on a standard plan how do you achieve this?

Did you happen to notice on my demo that PowerPoint put the spellcheck line under the word powerpoint?? 🤣
@@Tom.S.TalksTech Fair! Their template subheader was set to all caps so I went with it ;)
