  • Georgia’s coastal marshes make up an estimated one-third of all the salt marshes on the east coast and are home to crabs, shrimp and fish that are important to Georgia’s economy. Students from the University of Georgia spent their spring break cleaning up the Georgia coastline and learning how to protect marine wildlife.
Educators at Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant teamed up with UGA’s IMPACT Service Breaks program in order to prepare UGA students to be active members in their communities through service. These are no ordinary college students. They’re doing everything they can to secure the future of our natural resources.
