Don't know who I'm speaking to here, BUT... Kids, take it easy with these college preps and pay little attention to usnews rankings. If the goal is to go into the work field, then UGA won't make much difference in your professional accomplishments. You could achieve the same with a degree from KSU. Once you have your first job, your college and your GPA barely matters. It's your performance and expertise and skills at your job that drive your career. So, please go easy on yourself. Work smart, not hard. Enjoy the finer rhi gs in life. Aim to be a well-rounded person.
Top-ranked schools are usually more research inclined than other institutions and often have a lower student-faculty ratio. However, I agree: that's not the best fit for every student. At Transizion, we work hard to help students find the best fit school for them. :)
I was accepted to UGA but went to CSU because it's cheap. It made no difference in my ultimate goal-to be a doctor. I've been accepted to medical school and I'll be starting next year. It can make a difference for other career paths, but undergrad doesn't really matter all that much for premeds.
Now that the test optional game is over at UGA, you will see the test scores drop dramatically. The only people that submitted scores were those that scored very highly on them during covid.
I think there is some truth to that. However, since SAT scores generally trend higher over time, it's also possible that the SAT score will level off for a bit. Either way, I'm always excited to see the data!
I have a low academic GPA (3.2) but my school doesn’t offer AP classes and most of our classes are rigor. My test scores are alright and my extracurriculars are really good. I also live in GA :) I know it’s a reach but I’m hopeful I can get in, do you think I have a chance at all?
I'm a junior and I used to not take school very seriously (always A's and B's, with mostly A's tho) but I took a turn for the better and will graduate with 9 AP's and my current GPA is a 3.8. My SAT score was a 1110, however I'm retaking it, and I am a member of student government, national honors, beta club, science honors, multicultural club, GHP nominee (don't know if I am a finalist yet) and a thespian honors officer, where I manage the social media. I am also currently in the Capstone program. what do you think my chances of getting in are?
Hey! I have a 3.7 unweighted and a 3.9 weighted my sophomore year. Is It possible to still make it into UGA if I have a higher SAT score? (Yes I am a resident of GA) And yes I am planning to take as many APs as possible and take more clubs.
Hi Uga is my dream school and I wondered my chances. I have a 3.96 w gpa and 3.8 uw gpa. I am president of our drama club. I am directing our upcoming showcase. I was in charge of sound managing for a full year. I am also behind the social media and websites for both our student government and honor society. The honor society is me completely redoing the website. I have 4 aps so far and have 10 honors and gifted classes. I was taken out of school in my beginning of sophomore year do to my dads health reasons so I was forced to only take regular level classes that full year. Also all of freshman year I took care of my declining grandparent while maintaining all as. My sat as of now is an 1190. I am diagnosed with anxiety so test taking is a bit hard for me. But I am tryin to raise my test score
I have an unweighted gpa of 3.9 and SAT score of 1210. My low SAT score is a weak point in my application, I know. I am ranked in the top decile of my class. I am almost finished applying regular decision, and I maxed out my common application activities, listing my most important activities. I have several leadership position; in those, I have initiated fundraisers, directed meetings, recruited new members to exceed a 100% chapter increase for my local TSA Chapter, placed in state competitions, acquired state champion title in website design, spoken to congress members about ways to become a better leader, volunteered to provide assistance for local businesses, etc. I am my senior class’s vice president and a varsity track and field athlete. I am also African American, but I don’t know if that is important. I was told Affirmative Action exists, but I don’t know how true that is for competitive universities. Do you believe I have a fair chance at gaining admission to UGA? Thank you
That will help your application significantly. It also looks like about 15% of incoming classes have SAT scores in your range, so I'd say that you have a shot.
I’m a 17-year old student from Myanmar and still preparing IGCSE! And It will finish at 18 😢 Which qualification would you suggest me to go on? My Destination is US and I am in trouble whether I should take A-levels or AP.. Is age 20 or 21 too old to go to university?
@@cyanidemlbb9492 It's more common than you think! Some schools actually have an average age of 24, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. As for advice on which APs or A-levels to take, it really depends on what you want to study. You should take classes you can do well in and align with your major!

Are you a resident of Georgia? Being one would really help, as your GPA is below average and your SAT is in the bottom quarter of applicants.
@@jasonpatel13I am CT resident and would love to join UGA! Can I ? SAT 1520 and gpa 3.8
Can I get into to Georgia Umiversity if I would have a gpa 4.57 and sat 1500.?
It somewhat depends on your major and if you're a resident of GA, but those numbers look good. :)
Back in 2018 when I applied, I was accepted with a 4.45 wGPA and 1370 SAT.
time required to get my application accepted by UGA
