Victor Bailey's group performed live on April 6, 2000, in front of an audience in a TV studio, in the television show "Brane Ronchel - Izza Odra (Behind the Stage)", which was shown for 15 years on Slovenian national television, on the 2nd program of RTV SLO.
Brane Ronchel is a Slovenian radio and television host and concert organizer, an excellent connoisseur and promoter of jazz music. The initial letters of his first and last name can be seen in the upper left corner of the screen.
The video was digitally transferred from an analog VHS video tape found in my basement, and the original mono sound was remastered.
This video was posted on RUclips on Victor's 64th birthday. RIP Видеоклипы
The Europeans save the day again in terms of documenting stuff. Thanks.
Vic was a great Label mate, schoolmate, neighbor, business partner and friend. Thank you for sharing and keeping his “voice” out there.
This is excellent!!!
One of the Baddest Cats to ever play the Bass, Victor Bailey RIP
This is ridiculously good. Thanks for posting. I listened to a lot of Victor Bailey back in the 90s, first time seeing a performance. I didn't know that he passed. R.I.P. Victor and Jim.
RIP VICTOR...WE MISS YOU ❤
Oh man! Imagine, someone's got to step into Jaco's shoes... Vic did it so well.
Big ups! Rip Victor Bailey 🙏. He was a class act. I met him when I was 17 and he was around 19 and of course he blew me away! I mean up to that point in time I knew a couple of kids around my age who were good bass players but I don't think any of them had the overall brilliant chops that Victory possesed!!
Yes, Victor had that something, his sound and playing were unique, he will always remain alive for me.
Saw him in 83 with WR, sublime..
At the time I was disappointed it wasn't.. someone else everyone mentions but on reflection that band were better except for the percussion which was always unnecessary after mysterious traveller, imo
@@mateuszwojak2092 Man, subsequently years later from meeting Victor I would run into him when I was down and out and he would always show me grace and compassion. Ironically I also met Jaco by chance when I was in my early twenties in the mid eighties and it was like we knew each other for years!
Vic is gone, Jim is gone... what a world.
RIP Mr Jim Beard
Thanks for sharing....had the pleasure of meeting Victor twice but never saw his solo band.....He is truly missed😢
Missed indeed
Hvala, Zvone. Ovo je blago!!!
Nek' je laka zemlja Džimu i Viktoru.
What a band! Sad to think Victor and Jim are no longer here. Thank you for sharing this!
Gone to soon!! Always great to see Vic live! First gig I saw Vic on was with weather report, right after Jaco left. We couldn’t believe what we were hearing.
Great musician and great teacher!!
That bass line was so funky that I needed a shower after hearing it.
What a Great Concert!!! RIP Victor and Jim

Love the Sound Great Band trip Victor and Jim
woooow ... such a treasure
How unselfish the first song! ........This is a beautiful performance for Eternity.
I saw them in Paris in April 2000, it's was so amazing!!
I was there too!
Me too, at the New Morning
We were so lucky while Brane Rončel had his hands over jazz scene here in Ljubljana. None of them, who came after him had connections and taste to come even close to what he managed to bring on our stages..whats even better is, all these concerts were toll free..WE MISS BRANE'S MUSICAL NAMES TOO MUCH. All concerts he organised, and were recorded by Slovenian national TV, should be available to wider audience. The man is national treasure for all the greatest jazz names he managed to bring here. You wouldn't believe the list of jazz legends he brought here.. THANK YOU FOR UPLOAD!
Love Jim Beard.
I was on that concert on Brane Rončel show in Ljubljana 2001. Great memories🙏

Victor is here playing a prototype of his Fender bass model. He used this prototype when recording the album "That's Right".
Ran across this absolute gem. Nothing is by chance. I love it. Salute from Brazil! 🎉
Muito obrigado . In my past life - and I beleive that, I'm sure I was living somewhere in Brasil, because I adore samba, bossa nova, carneval, cachaca, language ...all that :)
No puedo creer lo que estoy escuchando, me hizo llorar, no, que musicasos, el tiempo de ese batero es anormal.

Crazy sax microphones. Long time ago too. Could use a master. Tough one. Hiss vs. drums.
Hi,
Dennis Chambers is writing his name with two N
Thx a lot
Kinga Glyk à faite une mention par rapport à Victor à Frankfurt
How does anyone solo over Victors bass lines…..Impossible unless it’d Alan Holdsworth
ual
Hvala! 🔥
Great studio album but this live version is not up to the level we could wait from Victor, Dennis and Kenny...
Are you kidding? What a treat to see them play this tune. The studio version is tight sure. But live music is where its at my friend.
@@snoopywalker1881 yeah perfection vs having fun and making some effing money?
easy choice. cuz they sho don't make money from the recordings.....at the end of the day.
"PromoSM" 😓
