The Flamingo Club was a nightclub in Soho, London, between 1952 and 1969. It was located at 33-37 Wardour Street from 1957 onwards and played an important role in the development of British rhythm and blues and jazz.
During the 1960s, the Flamingo was one of the first clubs to employ fully amplified stage sound and used sound system provided by ska musicians from the Caribbean.
The club had a wide social appeal and was a favourite haunt for musicians, including the Beatles.
I love hearing Jimi in the early days and fresh experience raw loud exciting🎶love you Jimi Mitch noel
Thankyou forthisgem
Damn. Jimi, gititin' it totally on! Play on Jimi, play on....Wow!! he was born to play!!
Regardless the various differences of recording quality, it does stand as a true testament to its grooviness at that particular time.
And to think, I was introduced to Hendrix only four months later at the Monterey Pop Festival.
This is a nice little gem!
Jimi’s tone is more clearer and brighter even glassier than the tone of his later gigs in which he uses Marshalls. Maybe this is not a Marshall. Reminds me the 1968 Cafe au Go Go tone in NY. Maybe not a Marshall neither. I prefer this tone.
I think this is the first live recording of the JHE..
