That decision by Lucas is what made everyone pan Hayden as being a bad actor. Lucas just wasn't a good Director. Great storyteller, bad Director. He should've sounded more like Matt Lanter's Anakin from the start, and it turns out he was capable of it as heard in "Ahsoka".

Poor Jake Lloyd, not intentional virtue signalling, more just clicked on the vid because enjoyed the idea then remembered the ''annoying kid'' was actually just a kid actor and any kid taking the role would of copped it likewise (personally would of been the pits, high pitched voice 'til 14/15 real whiteboy Chris Tucker).

Jake Lloyd did a good job of portraying Anakin in the way that Lucas instructed, even tho I disagree w Lucas' ideas here - in any case, it's horrible what happened to this young actor, who ended up growing up w psychiatric problems due to the abuse he suffered from ppl who disliked the film, and also from the media who wouldn't stop harassing this child -
