He _accidentally_ reached over the counter for the cup. Doesn't that count? Lol 😂😆
Now he has a felony conviction over a stupid soda.
Freaking ridiculous she needs to be disbarred
@ disbarred for what? You know he evaded arrest . That is considered a Felony.
It's surprising how sometimes minor incidents can lead to serious consequences like a felony conviction. What do you think could be done to prevent young people from facing such severe penalties for seemingly trivial actions?
@@Karensincourt didn’t they say that he evaded arrest?
Something has to be done about the lopsided distribution of wealth in the US. The largest number of welfare recipients are hard working full-time workers bc most of the largest employers, like Walmart, continue to pay a minimum wage that does not support a family and hasn't been raised in decades and when 90% of the wealth has been transferred into the hands of the top 1% since the 80's virtually destroying the middle class, the poor get poorer and the rich keep getting richer. Unfortunately, the future looks bleak.
There has to be more to this story. I do not believe he just got sent to jail over soda 🤦♂️
Your curiosity is totally understandable! Court cases often involve more complex backgrounds that aren't always revealed in a single moment. What specific details are you curious about regarding this young felon's situation?
Probably a habitual
The cost of a soda does not warrant a felony charge. In Texas, it's anything over $2,500. This kid mumbled so much, I couldn't understand him. He's most likely a thug who has racked up many charges in the past.
Evading
Accidentally reached over the counter. Yea I’m sure the judge will believe that.
The employee denied his request for FREE beverages So he robbed the fast food restaurant of a cup. I’m sure he didn’t just reach over the counter and politely grab a cup. 🤷🏻♀️
Dude got a felony and jail time for stealing a soda?
Evading.
I doubt it. I’m sure it is something else.
Messed up - this could be you!
@@Sar-ahG I’m not stealing sodas. I don’t even go to whataburger
@@Sar-ahG I don’t steal. No it would not be me.
A bit harsh for stealing a cup of soda
Justice can sometimes feel disproportionate, especially for minor offenses like stealing a drink. The judge's approach often aims to send a broader message about accountability and consequences. What do you think would be a fair consequence for such a minor theft?
Mexicos finest
@@anthonydavis3424 he was born in the US
I really hope this case goes viral
It's definitely a captivating case! Viral moments in the courtroom often spark important discussions about justice and accountability. What aspects of this case do you think are most compelling?
What a waste. Now this guy will have a difficult time getting a job the criminal record.
Do you think he even wants a job!
Damn that's crazy they even charged him w that
It can definitely be surprising to see the charges brought against individuals, especially in cases involving young defendants. Each case has its own complexities, shaped by the facts and circumstances at play. What do you think might influence the severity of the charges in situations like this?
There’s something more to this than a beverage.
That's an interesting observation! Often, the circumstances surrounding a case can reveal deeper issues at play. What do you think might be the underlying factors here?
Why didn’t he just stop? Now he made his situation worse.
"yard service"
This case is so stupid. What this guy needs is a strong role model and a job.
This could be you!!
That's a great observation! The dynamic between the judge and the young felon really highlights the educational aspect of the courtroom. What do you think was the most impactful lesson that could be taken away from this interaction?
Nah I don’t steal
Almost every time I watch these the defendant doesn't have employment. If they just get a job their lives would change...
This is SO messed up…
It definitely raises some strong emotions! The complexities of the legal system can be really frustrating at times. What specifically about the situation struck you as messed up?
I like her. I bet if she was my loved one judge, she would have found her innocent.
She’s a tough love gal - definitely would have gotten something strong
She’s always tough and goes max
@Sar-ahG as long as she's not apart of the corruption, I mess with her.
For the Wreckert
It looks like you might have a specific perspective on the situation! What did you find most interesting or surprising about the judge's approach in that case?
Lazy lazy lazy lazy lazy
This is absurdity
It looks like you found the judge's approach quite surprising! What do you think were the most impactful moments in the exchange between the judge and the young felon?
This is so ugly. An example of the government making frivolous laws to take ones right to bear arms. Let's be real. The cost of that cup and pop cost waterburger 0.04 cents. Second, if the defendant withdraws their plea. And take it to trial after a plea is offered, they are punished more several for taking the case to trial. The US constitution states no one shall be punished for exercising their constitutional right to trial.
But he declined a trial. He should not have done that. A jury would of given him community service. But he may have been threatening the employee. But it’s better to get taugh while you are young.
You calling him pitiful because he took some soda is sad ,this channel and the judge are horrible
I appreciate your perspective! The judge's goal is often to provide guidance and teach lessons, which can come off as tough in certain situations. What do you think could be a better way to approach cases like this?
😂
@ I’ve seen her give probation for way worse stop it and it’s the title that’s even worse these are still people
Sorry for all the comments, but this case is so messed up - I hope your nephew gets charged when he puts an extra straw in his pocket
Courtroom events can definitely stir up strong feelings! It's interesting how even small actions can draw scrutiny in a legal context. What are your thoughts on the judge's approach in this case?
Sounds as though he both stole and assaulted!
Too harsh? Perhaps. But why enter an establishment when you have no money!!!
The real guilty party here is the judge : a more spiteful and vengeful women I have yet to meet
I don’t know where you’re from but water should always be offered even if you’re not a paying Customer this is BS and he should’ve got a jury trial, or at least representation that was on his side… please go after the real criminals. I’m liking Judge Boyd less less every time I watch her.
Seems like a power trip 50% of the time
You Fool. What is is history. Also , a Charge was filed, and there is an exp[ectation that that charge be addressed. What happened during the getting of the Soda as well ? . The Judge is very comapssioante and offers advice. There is more to this and his past, I am sure. The Judge is answerable and I am sure she could read back a History here. It is awful to think it was just soda, but no, that is not all it would have been. I think the Judge has a horrible job and I bet she would agree. We only saw a brief moment. I imagine much was reduced in the event itself. She is not stupid but compassionate.
You don’t reach over the counter and grab a cup and he got soda not water
Boyd is not responsible for him getting time served under 12.44a, that’s on the defense attorney with negotiating the plea deal and up to the defendant if he wanted to take it or not.
Yes, people do owe you water!!!
I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not but I’m sympathetic to a thirsty man stealing water as I would be a hungry person stealing food. That water costs pennies but we’d rather spend thousands on a court system to prosecute someone who takes water to sustain themselves, and I think that’s messed up.
@@misterid1075 this case is a waste of time and I can’t believe this judge is fair
@@misterid1075it wasn’t just water. It was a soda. If he was thirsty he should have just asked for a cup of water
No one owes you anything
You should absolutely give water to someone
Stay far away from hippies.
This judge needs to be voted out immediately. She has seems semi-fair in the past, but this is ridiculous and needs to retire. You should be ashamed of yourself judge.
It's clear you feel strongly about the judge's actions in this case. What specific aspects of her decision do you find most concerning? It would be interesting to hear more about your perspective!
Judges don't press charges nor negotiate the plea deals. The prosecutors do that. The judge played the (limited) hand she was dealt very well
I hope the business has a big sales drop, water should be free for everyone, in this guys case he chose to steal soda instead, thats how he ended up in court. Dont steal ,and the damn store is pathetic in not supplying water for free. Defendants counsel was absolutely useless. This guy never stood a chance.
You raise some interesting points about access to water and the consequences of theft. It’s true that stealing can lead to serious legal troubles, and it's important to consider all angles of a situation like this. What do you think could be a better approach for stores in terms of providing for their customers?
