New sub here in central Ct, While I like the look of the Holz Hausen wood pile and any other person who neatly stacks wood, I could never, ever commit myself to that much work stacking wood. I literally throw it into a piles and cover the top 50% with a camo tarp after 6 months and call it wood. My yard looks like giant footballs cut in half, Call me lazy but I can't stand handling wood over and over, drives me nuts !! I'm usually 2-3 yrs ahead of the game, so I'm not too worried about the moisture content as it seems to burn like gas. I do envy you guys who have the patience to stack the way you do, looks like artwork to me. Have a Merry Christmas and looking forward to new content ! Thanks.
With piles sitting 2-3 years you must have some amazing mouse nests, squirrel nests and snake skins in those piles. I've had winters when the supply got low that I had to resort to picking through a pile of wood too, it just isn't as exciting as wood stored neatly on a gravel bed covered with a tarp. Thanks for subscribing!
Not jealous at all! I had my hand on enough firewood for the seaon. A lot I'd split for a relative that decided to move so I didn't stock up as normal and in fact declined wood I could have split. Of course they changed their mind and now I'm 2/3rds light on what I need! Going to be an expensive winter, I've rarely had to buy in split timber before and I'm not happy about it!
Just got a call from a friend whose neighbor is taking down a bunch of trees. I'm welcome to any wood after a closer friend gets what they need. You want me to drop a load off at your place?
hey not sure if you've watched buckins latest vid getting the powersaws stright but he gave you a awesome shout out at about 7 mins into it. thought I'd let you know :)
CTSCAPER I used to have a New Holland Ls 140 skid steer. Sold it 10 years ago and I keep kicking myself . Work will come back around just keep it . when you sell a piece of equipment Then you always need it once you sell it happened to me the kubota just wasn’t what I needed the skid steer is better to have around
I still go back and forth. I haven't used the machine on a job in 2 years and it still costs to maintain. It would stink to get jobs that I could use it on and not have it though.
Lol, I always chase the mice in my wood pile... And I always think I'm making a mouse hotel as I stack
They took a survey and 9 out of 10 mice prefer to live in woodpiles. I still jump when I see them but I know they're coming.
Nice, really enjoy these videos!
Glad you enjoyed it. I wasn't sure it was exciting enough.
A pleasure to be outside. Sort of sums it up really...
It really doesn't matter the weather. Outside is always better within reason.
Great idea John to extend your hoop-house for the wood..Take Care and Stay warm..
Nice to see you Cynthia. So far it's been an easy winter to stay warm. I hope things stay that way.

Oooh. Paying for firewood. That hurts for sure.
It's not a good feeling considering how much wood I turned away this year!

Sure, brilliant! Which port do you want to meet at or did you finally manage to flag down that Boeing C-17 Globemaster in the end?
I got the Globemaster. Just text me the coordinates and I'll drop it off next weekend.

I seen in the video that you still have your bobcat no potential buyers yet
There's a lot of Chaff out there.
CTSCAPER I was selling a kubota L 2950 had so many tire kickers If you were close to me I would be interested.
It's too bad John though I admit the longer it stays the more second thoughts I have.
