- Unboxing the mighty Huawei P40 Pro, an upgraded version of the 2020 flagship smartphone with a quad lens rear camera, EMUI 10.1 software and improved specs. This hands-on review takes a tour of the Huawei P40 Pro's best features, hardware and software, as well as testing out that camera setup.
If you're into phone tech, this flagship has a lot to offer. Premium features you'd expect like a 90Hz display, fast battery charging (including 40W wireless recharging) and 5G support are all on board. Huawei's beefy Kirin 990 platform means games like PubG will play perfectly and you can expect all day battery life no problem.
You get the same 50MP RYYB primary lens as the standard P40, plus an upgraded ultra-wide and telephoto shooter and a Time of Flight sensor. All of the usual camera modes are on board, while the video chops have been boosted to 4K 60FPS recording vs the older P30 Pro. Check back for a full review of the optics.

Huawei P40 Pro win the game again! They totally focus on giving us the best camera technology in 2020. Time to save money to buy Huawei P40 Pro. It got amazing night low light photography. Great in videos too.

I just bought a P40 pro here in June of 2022 and while I've only had it for a couple days it seems pretty awesome to me. Of course I can understand why not having GMS could be a problem for some people, but I'm perfectly fine without. And getting it activated in the US was a trick since this isn't a region supported by Huawei, no surprise there. But it's necessary to set up a Huawei account to make full use of the phone, and to do that you need to be in a region supported by Huawei with a number they can send the verification code to. And I probably don't have to tell you I was a bit miffed that while Amazon was upfront about not having Google services they didn't mention anything about not being able to get HSM either if you live in the states. But fortunately I was able to work around that thanks to a friend who does live in a supported region 😅
And honestly I'm really impressed. I've been getting software updates in an absolute flood and now I'm up to date with EMUI 12 and the June security patch. So I'm now a full on fan of Huawei and I hope they take the government to court and get delisted so we can start getting more Huawei products here.
Huawei do like, the best handsets around and I 100% hope their 'blacklist' status is overturned at some point. There's zero evidence to support Trump's sissy fit.
@@GSF404 I know right! I don't really even care about GMS if Huawei was fully in the US market and this was a supported region I would dump Samsung and be fully into the Huawei ecosystem. As it is I have a P40 pro and a GT3 watch and I'm a huge fan 🤷♂️

If you use phone clone, you can get the apps but still unable to update some apps..

Questions, is the 4k video stabilized at 30 and 60 frames per second on front and rear cameras, your thoughts on how to get Google apps onto this blower, and is it really even an upgrade on the P30 pro considering the lack of Google services.

Partly sad to think that the S20 Ultra was having fun being the boss until it came to an end once again.. Huawei are going to be winning it for years now.. that P50 is going to be a madness if it ever exists.

I have a P40 Pro and it is amazing true beast of a phone only problem I can think of with this is the lack of Google play. When the yanks sort out there fear of the Chinese hopefully Huawei can get Google on these phones. Like watching your videos very in depth lots of info keep up the good work.

I am desperate for a new phone, I have the Honor 8x and i've never been able to get a flagship phone up until now and I'm sick of only having budget phones, as much I love Huawei and I want to stick with them as well as I would love to have the P40 pro, the only thing that is really really doing my head in and stopping me from getting it is the Google ban, I need those Google services and social media apps like instagram, the Google ban has really annoyed me, I'm considering getting the S20+ but I really don't want to because I don't like Samsung and I don't want to leave Huawei, so i'm also looking at getting the p30 pro now as I do love it when it released last year and especially with the price drop, but I'm worried if that Google ban will apply in future updates, I'm really stuck
@Ike Christian I was thinking about switching to Apple, but I prefer android so much more, I hate the iPhone 11's design with its stovetop camera layout and I'm not a fan of theatte finish even though I prefer matte over glossy thing when it comes to everything else, I really wanna stick to Huawei but I just can't live without Google services

I tested the mate 30 pro and that is also a beast but this looks good also. I also started slowly a small app store for apps you can not find on other populair apps stores. So people can use that and can download the latest dutch apps like banking or speciaal populair dutch apps . I did this before BlackBerry and I had a nice fan base till the brand died. Also read Trump wanted to kill there devolpment in chips also because they moving fast to take over the lead in two years .

Is it possible to clone online banking apps the same way you cloned the apps on your video? Will they work? I live in UK and love the phone but the only thing stopping me from buying this device is lack of Play Store, most apps that I currently have are not available on HMS App Gallery, ie Nationwide, Airlines apps etc

How the battery worth it
Use APKPURE for finding apps not available in the app gallery and use Petal Maps for Google maps alternative and RUclips Vanced for RUclips Alternative. Games and Spotify and more are all available in APKPURE use this app store alternative until HarmonyOS comes and app gallery has all the apps. Huawei is excellent and I'm using Huawei Mediapad M6 and also Huawei P40. I'm living life without Google as a gamer and as a person who is actively addicted to social media. Give it a try.
