    Ill miss both of these super talented players, I couldn’t even choose which one to support of the 2 this match. In my opinion, these are the only 2 players in the modern age that still play tennis with a big smile

    Absolutely criminal that you didn’t include the full exchange at the net after the match. These two had a nice goodbye moment to commemorate Diego’s last match but you somehow can’t include it?

    It's not obvious at all when you watch them play but Monfils is 5 years older than Schwartzman. Monfils is still playing at a high level on the main tour while Schwartzman must play qualifiers now. Maybe Schwartzman can still play well on clay but not so much on hard courts, even slow ones like the ones at the US Open.

      being tall may be an advantage, but schwartzman is living proof that height can be defeated through technique and consistency. He has been ranked as high as #10 in the world

    • @Stu49583
      @Stu49583 17 дней назад +1

      @@meowcheesemeow6951I agree. So tiring that people can only see his (lack of) height when he plays. When he loses, people always chalk it up to his height. When he wins, people will marvel as if the biggest miracle ever happened. Strange how when he loses -> people go: "he lost because of his height!"

    • @Reckless499
      @Reckless499 17 дней назад +3

      Was going to comment this. Diego has AMAZING groundstrokes and hits way above his pay grade for his size. But matches like this, where the opponent is much taller, can generate more free power, and can cover more ground easily will always be Diego’s Achilles heel. Diego has to work 2/3x harder than these guys to win points that they can just bomb a serve or get on top of the ball the next point on. Hellavu player though.
