I always joked about even somewhat big bands playing Teignmouth as one of their tour dates, when I passed through the town every holiday afternoon. That suddenly stopped when I realised that these lads come from there and actually played it at the height of their career.
I’m an American and came over for the Apollo shows. I visited teignmouth and Exeter and spent an evening at the pier without even realizing this gig took place where I was standing. The perspective that gave me of how small the town is blew my mind
I was in Teignmouth this week and I remember queuing with my parents for hours to try and get a ticket, sold out in an instant to thousands of hungry fans. What a band
I could hear this from my house in Dawlish. It was loud as hell and my room was facing the other direction. Did the BBC not film the whole thing? Criminal.
@@AuroDHikoshi They do but for this gig there are a lot of songs that were broadcasted by the bbc but I think they’ve been lost over the years. Plug in baby and the resistance were 2 songs broadcasted at the time. Some of these clips are from the first night whereas the bbc broadcast is from the second. The clip for MOTP is from the first day. I went on the 2nd day so I remember what happened
Having grown up in Teignmouth in the 70 and 80s this was an amazing night I will never forget. Rocking out on the Den the same place I'd performed in play and did a drill dispay on the den as a kid.
Thank you to the legend who uploaded this, I was fortunate enough to go to this gig with my father when I was teen and getting to rewatch it brings back fond memories.
I was AT this (the PREVIOUS gig WITHOUT the TV cameras) Oh wow.. Now it's great to see how they they STILL kick ass live 12 yrs later - this was .. Quite a night!!! (For anyone who doenst know the backstory (pls confirm or deny, if you know) theres local paper pics of the mayor, who didnt like thier politics, putting thier records in the bin - now Muse are massive theyre welcomed back to their hometown as heroes :) ) - seriously I'm about as anit-corporate as they come yet these are ONE bunch that turn me into a dancing singing fanboy! :) The politics of queen with the harmonies of Public Enemy (er, no wait..) Muse need to bring back Unnatural Selection to the current setlist. It's a song with so much in it. Super fun bassline-guitar and look at how Dom enjoying blasting his drum. It's fire.
@@pablo-arteaga Haha yeah. The chance is 0,1% so I hope there's a special show in the future at a small venue for them to play deep cuts only from the start to the end.
I saw them 2 months later, with a similar setlist ( cave (piano), unnatural selection, mkultra , nishe, exogenesis pt1 were played amongst the other famous one ) Best day of my then young life, I was 13 😅
Excellent, thank you! I thought the shorter version was lacking a few staple songs. I'd love to see Muse in their hometown but I think your video gives a better view than I could ever get by being there. Blast it out on a big tv with good sound and that's almost as good :)

Thanks BTec Dom! So cool to see MUSE play where you guys first met and began playing music!!!
Touched my heart to see MUSE back playing their hearts out for Teignmouth! Great band, great guys❣️

Could even hear it from the edge of Kingsteignton
Used to gig around the same time, so the whole jolly farmer, parrot, railway days got some old flyers somewhere
I think muse have a say on what was recorded and what was for live only
BBC did record it but this bit you are seeing on youtube is slapped together by .... the drummer (I think). :-)

That low quality footage of Resistance is everything.
