After butchering the annual pig, we will store different parts of the pig in different ways. Apart from our local specialty Crunchy Bones, we will also make some preserved ribs. Each year, my dad will make hams and preserved ribs himself. Half a month has passed and the ribs are completely dry. Today, I'll make a homely dish for my parents - Preserved Ribs Hot Pot!

Reminds me of my own village, no top restaurant in the world beats this, cooking fresh and delicious food using natural resources e.g firewood and then sitting together with family/friends, sharing stories whilst enjoying the food.

I love that she cooks the food and at the end everyone comes together to enjoy it. I grew up in a house of six other siblings (11 of us in total but the other 4 were adults at the time) and loved when we sat together for dinner, especially on Sundays.
