I _might_ be an accommodations type of person (rather than choosing an activity). I like to get somewhere, organize all of my little ponies on the table, and then go and find things to do. 🐴
Craig, did you find anything with the metal detector? Holly, I'm interested in how you attach the bike box on the back of your van, is that hitch-mounted? Class 1 or 2 probably? Any complaints about availability of water and dumping? Any equipment improvements that you would like to share? Great series, btw, I'm hanging on every word. I'm also trying to get Bonnie interested in this so... keep up the good work! 8-D
Hey sorry for the slow reply! No big finds with the metal detector just yet :-) Our bike box gets a lot of attention from fellow travelers, too - It's a "Komo" brand box from a manufacturer near Montreal. It's on a 2" hitch, also equipped with a swing-away adapter so we can open the back doors of the van, where we keep the BBQ and other supplies. We can show you a bit more of that in a future episode. Likewise, great questions about water and dumping - no problems so far with that. We can go about 4 days without having to dump or refill the fresh water. When we stay at parks there's usually a dump station, and if we're boondocking for several days we sometimes pay around $10 to dump and fill up. We use an app called iOverlander (free, check it out!) to find dump stations and free places to camp, it's really helpful. We'll talk more about our favourite apps in a future episode too. Glad to hear you're enjoying our channel and look forward to keeping in touch :-)
Holly Beach!!! Cool!
I am definitely a destination/activity gal… I like knowing the plan for a trip so the time at the place is maximized for FUN!
