    Plenty of more knowledgeable people in here, but I'll take some initiative on things I know:
    - Nene was never involved in BABYMETAL, except for attending some of their concerts to show support. After graduating Sakura Gakuin, she left the entertainment industry and went on to pursue becoming a nurse in her hometown Ibaraki prefecture.
    - 2 of the 3 Avengers came from Sakura Gakuin (Momoko and Kano). Both have expressed adoration for BABYMETAL and have never expected to even be part of it. Kano in particular was known to look a lot and act a lot like Moa; Kano also explicitly stated her admiration for Moa, calling her "Moa-sama" (honorific for great respect) in one of the Sakura Gakuin episodes.

    • @TheBongReyes
      @TheBongReyes 3 года назад +6

      Yep. Kano is, also, a member of another Amuse group... @onefive. I really believe for the time being only Momoko will be the only Avenger. And, if I remember correctly, Momoko had always wanted to be a dancer for an artist/band/group... not as a background performer tho. No one can ever really replace Yui. I believe even Su, Moa & Koba knows this. But I’m ok if Momoko was to be made a permanent member of BabyMetal. Seeing how she performed at their Forum concert, Momoko did great and too many saw her get really emotional.

    • @marloforreal
      @marloforreal 3 года назад

      @@TheBongReyes Kano is my favorite Avenger, and Momoko being the close 2nd. I'm also indifferent to making Momoko a permanent member as she's displayed a great aptitude in dancing and has good charisma on stage. My only wish now is to give the girls (Super Ladies now at this point) more freedom when it comes to: having their personal social media accounts, more interview as themselves and not as their stage character, and being able to promote BABYMETAL on their own accord. I don't believe a majority of us fans would care about the lore and mysticism all that much! We care more about Suzuka Nakamoto, Moa Kikuchi, the KAMI band members more than SU-METAL, MOA-METAL, etc.

    • @TheBongReyes
      @TheBongReyes 3 года назад

      @@marloforreal agreed. But from what I’ve read about Japanese “Idol” culture. It is what it is. We might not like it. But the ladies, especially, Su has to have known how the industry works. As Himeka was an Idol before her. My brother has says the same about Kpop industry. Heavily controlling agencies.
      I’d like to see Su, Yui & Moa have their own social media. Independent from Amuse. But, on the other hand, it is nice to see that the Ladies aren’t chased and stressed out about paparazzi and overly fanatical fans (not true The One members) like what happens to “Western” music celebrities. Seen too often the pressure of having personal lives scrutinized by the public turns celebrities into nutcases.

    💀 💕 / 4⃣
    The "Sisterbones" supporting dancers at this 2014 concert were all identified as members of Mikiko's dance troupe ELEVENPLAY.
    None of them were Sakura Gakuin members.
    To answer your other question, Avengers Kano and Momoko were from Sakura Gakuin. Kano was even doing both for a short time before she graduated from SG.
    Riho is best known for her time as the "Ace" in the Idol group Morning Musume.
    She knew Su from their time together as kids at Actors School Hiroshima (ASH).
    They did cover this in the Guide video, but there's a lot of info to take in.
    4⃣ - Yui and Moa made up this song during their Singapore 2013 visit, and repeated it over and over again to the point that staff complained. : )
    To pass the time while they were on their bus, Su suggested the theme of "4" as a challenge to Yui and Moa after they successfully made up songs on the themes of "banana" and "wood".
    Koba decided to have it professionally arranged so Yui and Moa could perform it in concert. : )
    I don't know how it works in the Japanese music industry, but since Yui and Moa (as Black BABYMETAL) are officially credited with both the lyrics and music for this song, I hope they are still getting some royalties.
    The last time this was performed was at the two 'Legend S' concerts, Su's 20th birthday shows in Hiroshima.
    Yui was supposed to be there, but it was announced at the last minute that she would be unable to perform.
    Moa performed the song as a solo, but the Japanese crowd helped with Yui's lines in the song.
    I also love how Yui and Moa form the number 4 with their legs and arms as part of the choreography.
    A super cute touch from Mikiko, their choreographer.

    Yes, this SU/YUI/MOA format still is regarded as the true Babymetal by many and they may consider these Black Babymetal tunes don't really fit anyone covering Yui. However, Moa turns 22 this summer, is ir apt age for this tune and Onedari Daisakusen? I don't think so. I too am one still want Yui to come back when she can, but even it happens, they would be too old to perform these songs in the same manner.

    Momoko and Kano are graduated members from Sakura Gakuin, Momoko was graduated at the 2017 nendo, currently she is 18 years old and Kano from the 2019 nendo, she's currently 16 years old, maybe Momoko and Kano perform with Moa and Yui at her auditions for Sakura Gakuin because they join in SG at 2015 nendo, one year later of Yui and Moa's graduation.

    Great reaction. No the Sister Bones dancers were not from Sakura Gakuin. I think they may have been from the choreographer Mikiko Mizuno's dance group, or some of them anyway. Of the Avengers Riho was never in Sakura Gakuin but she was at the Actors School Hiroshima with Su when they were both a lot younger.
    '4 No Uta' (or Song 4) was written by Yui and Moa on the tour bus in Singapore when they were 12 as a challenge from Su who would give them a subject to write a song about (I can't remember other subjects, possibly wood and bananas? [Edit - I see Rick has confirmed those below already] but those songs have never materialised) and they have full writing credits for lyrics and music - not for the arrangement. After they wrote the song on the bus they ran around driving the crew crazy singing it constantly to the point the crew complained to their producer Koba to get them to stop - of course he made it a Black BABYMETAL song and it was included on the first album.
    At Budokan Black Night they were 14.
    About the song - there are two number systems in Japan, in one of them 4 is YON, in the other 4 is SHI. Shi also means 'to die' or death, so 4 is considered an unlucky number (much like 13 is considered unlucky in the west).
    Apart from the bits when they were counting down to 4 or counting up to 4 what they were doing was singing that it is all a silly superstition and listing other words that contain 'shi' (like Bitaminshi - vitamin C) and saying they don't mean to die, so neither does 4.
    The choreo is very clever too, they are not just holding up 4 fingers, a lot of the time and in various poses their arms and legs are also positioned to look like the figure 4. Also when they hold their fingers to their lips like they are telling people to "shhh" - in Japan shhh is also shi.

    Those girls that acted as support dancers for Moa and Yui were known as the Sisterbones, I don't think they ever had anything in relation to SG because people would have recognized them. It is thought that they usually were girls from Mikiko's dancing school or other girls in contract with Amuse not necessarily appearing in Sakura Gakuin.
    If you guys do not know, Mikiko is Babymetal choreographer and staging person, the second most important off-stage Babymetal person out of Koba-metal. There is a reason Babymetal staging and showmanship is so impactful. She also works for Sakura Gakuin and Perfume, and was in charge of the 2016 Olympics closing ceremony. Recently there has been a big drama running around in Japan because she was also organizing the Opening ceremonies of 2020 (2021) summer olympics but was expelled because she was not in the line with some high up ideas: they wanted to dress a fat actress as a pig and she said no, so they expelled her. There was a big scandal in Japan around two months ago. Her presence in the olympics opening ceremony organization made us speculate if she was putting a Babymetal performance there, but now that is over.
    Oh yeah, and two months ago with the X Anniversary concerts they played Onedari Daisakusen and GJ! again, and as Moa is now a beautiful grown up lady, this time she was doing the paper of auntie with 4 little sisterbones. There is rumors they were girls from this year (last year) Sakura Gakuin, but we won't know until the Bluray concerts are out.

    People already said it, but from the Avengers only Kano and Momoko were affiliated with Sakura Gakuin, Momoko graduated in March 2018, Kano in August 2020 (August because of COVID). Kano is still under contract with AMUSE and is in a J-Pop group called @onefive (the @ isn't spoken) with her fellow three graduates from 2020, Momoko's contract with the agency expired in 2018 after she graduated SG and went "abroad" to study. She still doesn't have a contract with any agency if I remember correctly, even though she performs with BABYMETAL. Riho was never in any way affiliated with SG nor AMUSE. Her ties with BM come from her childhood, when she went to Actor's School Hiroshima (where BM's and SG's choreographer MIKIKO was a teacher) together with Su. After graduating ASH she got into Hello! Project and became the Ace (the most popular/recognized girl of an Idol group) of Morning Musume, one of the most successful Idol groups since the 00s in Japan. She graduated from MM in 2015 to study dance in New York. I guess becoming an Avenger was her stepping stone back into the Japanese entertainment business because she signed a solo artist contract with Japan Music Entertainment last year, which probably means she won't perform with BM anymore. Something that can also be said for Kano, who, it seems, concentrates solely on @onefive at the moment. Momoko is the only one who performed with BM since the pandemic started in March 2020, so it's probably safe to assume she's the only Avenger left at the moment.

    I know you've listened to bits of the Budokan gigs before, so someone may have already given some information on the place, but here you are just in case.
    The Budokan is Tokyo's second largest venue after Tokyo Dome, but it has a lot of significance. It is right next to the Imperial Palace and was the national judo arena. Because of that it had/has a lot of ritual and religious significance. Therefore it cannot be booked like a normal venue, you have to be requested to peform there, so it is a great honor.
    The first group to perform there were The Beatles in the sixties, and there were protests in the street about the venue being used for something as profane as western rock music.

    This is one of my fave performances. It just has it all for me and it is so fun. I may be incorrect, but I believe Ozzy was at this gig or the next nights gig.

    The ultimate metal anti-establishment song. 4 is just a number and it doesn't mean death...... In reference to the Sister Bones, No those are NOT Sakura Gakuin members.

    If I had been in the audience when the girls came over to do their „yon yon“ interaction, I would have fainted on the spot. Is there such a thing as dying from oversmile?
    I don’t think anything is known about the identities of the Babybones, but to me they look a little too plump (no offense) to be SG girls. Although it would be a logic choice, of course.

    I remember that this song was made by MOA and YUI because in Japan, "4" is disliked because it is unlucky and they feel sorry for it. Is this wrong?

    There are lots of fours in the choreo too. For example at 5:28 when they cross legs to stand like a 4. The rest was said before, so I have nothin to add. Especially Rick Wagner has always solid information. In comparison I can only do what I can haha, but then again I discovered BM only three years ago (where have I been the years before? Shame on me!) Maybe it's because I'm not really a metalhead, but more into the classic stuff like AC/DC, Kiss, Queen etc. I only stumbled upon them here in youtube just by being curious seeing a clip with three little (don't call us little!) girls doin metal and clicked it. So I came to my first BM song called "Catch me if you can" and I am a fan eversince, and discovering Sakura Gakuin a bit later made it even worse (in a good way though)

    I really miss Black Babymetal. With Momoko now the only Avenger, Perhaps Kobametal can create something for Moa with Momoko as her sidekick. Not as cute as the original, something that showcases Moa singing voice, dancing and maybe a little guitar!!
    I think that the Avengers were created to get back to the "Trio". The configuration in the 2018 tour was off putting to me. Moa was lost in the crowd and Su looked alone. It doesn't help I disliked the costumes they had. They just didn't look like Babymetal.
    FYI, I'm one who does not think Yui will be back.

    I was lucky to meet and follow BABYMETAL from the beginning and I must say that Yui's presence on stage was extraordinary. Equal to or greater than Moa. When Yui left BABYMETAL it was a huge disappointment to all the fans and a real catastrophe for the band....
