    I had the same guitar...it sounded like a $4k guitar... but for some reason there were slight intonation issues while playing the G chord compared to my ce 24 and core 24. It shockingly sounded almost the same as my core 24... though I prefer the thinner neck and feel of my 24 I still love the sounds of the se 245 Korean custom... best guitar for price ever made...it smokes the sounds of the se 24 oddly...

      @Don't Believe Da Hype I had it professionally set up by two different techs... and even changed string gage to 10s and didn't solve problem. But as you said maybe the nut... maybe needed to change out. Anyway... it's a phenomenal guitar. I sold it to my cousin because I had too many guitars... but I would buy another in a heartbeat if I didn't own a core 24 and CE 24. I just sold my Gibson Les Paul too. It had same intonation issue while playing G chord... very slight but it's not spot on like my core 24 and CE 24 that have absolute perfect intonation and tuning stability... but they also cost an arm and leg more. You really don't get that much more for higher cost... I just had the cash to burn for prettier top really... and when I play live the locking tuners make significant difference... though you can put locking tuners on se for cheap... so there you have it. I bought all my PRS guitars used... so was with it because didn't have to change anything and half the cost of new...

      @Don't Believe Da Hype teles are only good with the right amp settup, etc... otherwise they sound too thin. I have same problem with my strat. I only really like it for lead guitar but not really for rythym... unless I want the quack tone. I would take the PRS 245 any day for most music... but strat definitely has its place as does tele. But if I only had one I would go with the PRS too for sure. The only thing the 245 is missing is coil tapping... which makes a huge difference if you want one guitar that can cross Gibson and strat territory with one guitar...

    • @thadlogan51
      @thadlogan51 3 года назад

      @Don't Believe Da Hype I need to spend more time playing a tele. I have an American standard strat and it sounds significantly thinner than my core 24.... mainly because of body and humbuckers vs single coil pickups. Both are amazing guitars for different types of playing and music... but my core 24 is definitely fuller and less thin sounding. The teles I've played sound slightly thinner than my core 24 because teles have single coil pickups... but that can be good depending on music style. I personally prefer the fuller sound of the core 24... but I want to actually buy a tele too for tone variety...teles are great guitars and a favorite of lots of great guitar players.

    • @thadlogan51
      @thadlogan51 3 года назад

      @Don't Believe Da Hype I'm seriously thinking about buying a tele too. Every guitar is unique... but like you said if you have one you can need with amp and guitar to dial in the sounds you want for the most part... though it is a little tough to completely copy humbucking subs with single coil and visa versa. Though Jon Mayer makes a single coil strat sound seriously fat. I like them all that's why I own most guitar types... but I think I need a tele too just for those 50's 60's stuff that they fit well with. If I only had one guitar I would take my core 24... but a lot of people aware by their teles... I just need more time with one. But the 245 has a seriously fat sound... which you would be hard pressed to replicate with a tele... different animal both great. I Love the 245... though was too bassy for my Peavey classic 50 amp... would be better with so that has less bass to it... That's why my custom 24 works better with my amp... A little less bass...

    • @thadlogan51
      @thadlogan51 3 года назад

      @Don't Believe Da Hype I have a CE 24 and a core 24. I love the 22 also... not sure which I prefer... I just got good deals and colors on my 24s... and they sound just right through my Peavy classic 50. I like them all lol. That's interesting about changing speakers around... maybe I should get EQ pedal... but even when I would drop bass way down in my amp the 245 was still extremely bassy... which is great through most amps... but the classic 50 is bassier than most amps... which is good with most guitars but seems to like my 24s better...

    Which one is better, this one or Epiphone Les Paul Modern?

    • @odrs
      @odrs 4 года назад +3

      Briana Ramira Ciurescu epiphones are great but they don’t have a true Les Paul feel, the PRS is different sounding so you’ll have to find out which is better to you. I personally just got this guitar and it’s shipping rn I love the overall design of it, the birds on the fret board were a real turn on

      I have three PRS guitars, a Gibson Les Paul... and I had two Epiphone Les Paul guitars. The se 245 sounds and feels like high end guitar next to the Epiphone. The Epiphone looks great but sound thin in overdrive. The se 245 sounds phenomenal both clean and in overdrive....in overdrive it's a fat beast. I would never buy an epiphone les paul again.... even Gibson studio sounds way better. Although the Epiphone sheriton 2 hollow body sounds really good...at least clean...

    I'm looking for something with not too much output so i can crank it up for a vintage dirty sound, and with a fuzz make it kinda sludgy or stoner, wich one do you guys think is more suitable for this? This 245 or the Starla with the stoptail?

    Loved the playing and I love the guitar. I can’t play them, because the stores in my area don’t sell prs guitars. I would order one, but I’m insecure, because I have rather short fingers and I don’t know, if the “wide fat” neck is too large for my hands. Any suggestions?

    • @cre9127
      @cre9127 4 года назад +5

      Gilgamesch In my opinion, he wide fat neck is easy to play for those with smallish hands, much more comfy than my fenders with 25.5 scale and thin skinny necks

      I'm in exact same position right now. Thinking of getting a PRS as an upgrade, but can't try one out. Have you pulled the trigger? If so, how is the experience?

    • @ragnakak
      @ragnakak 3 года назад

      The neck on these is about the same as a Gibson les Paul 60s neck. Not as thick as a 50s les Paul, but thicker than what you would normally find on a custom 24

    So does this bridge have better intonation then their older ones litterally the only thing holding me back from buying one on sweetwater

    • @thadlogan51
      @thadlogan51 3 года назад

      I had one and intonation was good except for when I played G chord then it just didn't sound spot on. Same thing with my Gibson Les Paul though. My core 24 and CE 24 have absolute perfect intonation. But the se 245 sounds phenomenal for the price...if you find one with perfect intonation or maybe change the nut? I would but another in a heartbeat if I didn't have others

    SE 245 OR SE24?

    • @calebholloway1993

      Single cut all day

    • @thadlogan51
      @thadlogan51 3 года назад +1

      @@calebholloway1993 I have both...se 245, se Chris Robertson, ce 24, and core 24. I'm still not sure which I like best... the core and ce 24 for more super strat tones and the 245 or Chris Robertson for fat big warm tones... That's why I have so many... love them all. For the price...if you can find a used PRS Chris Robertson that guitar sounds and plays epic... blindfolded you would think it costs as much as my core. It's like the 245 but with p90 in neck, and has coil tapping... and adjustable brass saddle. But my 245 was cheaper and sounded great too... but I'd go for a Korea custom version versus indonesian though...

      Hi Roto Sphere, I've used a PRS Sonzera 20 for the clean tones and a Marshall Mini Silver Jubilee Head for the driven sounds. All signals went into the Universal Audio OX Box. Cheers, Michael
