Greetings. What have you done to me? That rendition (original by Shirley Caesar) of I Remember Mama by George Nooks moved me deeply - to tears. My grandmother (mama) passed in several years and I never cried. So here I am 7 years later getting the grief and sadness out of my system. I love and miss you mama. And I know that you are one special angel. Let's be kind, courteous and patient to/with each other be it family or a stranger. And never get so busy that you forget to tell those dear to you how much you love them. Look in their eyes, hold their hands-squeeze them, hug them, kiss them on the lips, cheek or forehead and give that pat of approval on the back. Too many Jamaicans touch each other only when they get in a confrontation or when they're being intimate. Teach children to distinguish appropriate touch from inappropriate touch. I'm of the view that many of the social ills and violence/murders in Jamaica are due largely to the fact that our children are raised devoid of basic human affection from those in their household. Hence, as adults they're often cold, aggressive and quick to inflict hurt/pain. To the family of the deceased featured here, I wish you comfort and peace at a most difficult time. May you find comfort in the many memories and the relationship you enjoyed with the departed. Blessings to all👏
