2000 750f model here, man this is awesome. Your video is helpful and i managed to do seals and fork oil change on my bike all by myself thank you man :)
I don't usually like or comment on anything but you deserve this, fantastic video, clear, concise and definately made the job simple and easier. I would suggest to anyone before trying to do this is get a good impact driver, not a cheap ebay one, it made the job harder for sure.
overall good video. those bushings have different names. the slide bushing (keep fork tube plumb at the top of travel) is the smaller one with teflon on the inside (slides easier) and the Guide Bushing is to keep the bottom of the fork tube plumb inside the fork. other than that outstanding job. was in the middle of doing mine and the dog knocked over my assy table....needed some parts guidance, thanks Tip: Earlier version may have a notched end on the Aluminum Piece at the bottom. Make sure to seat the notch properly before inserting in inner tube. Mine also had a notch where the oil drain screw is.
Nice apart from one small thing. Put a small plastic bag over the top of the fork leg when fitting the oils seal, so it does not get damaged on the sharp edge
Hi Matt, First time viewing your channel, and I've subscribed. Good workmanship. Good, clear instructions. I have a Katana, (we just call it a GSX750F here in Europe. I'm in Scotland).
Good job Matt, and thanks for all your knowledge. I have a request for you. I would like that you show us how to replace motorcycle fork seals on BMW G310R. Thanks Matt
about to do this on my 91 katana 750. the fork tube has got chips at the seal area and also some dings below it somehow that I think have been rubbing on the top bush, causing teflon filled oil to come out of the forks. new forks are either really expensive or impossible to find so im gonna try and smooth them up as carefully as poss. wish me luck!
Hello. You wouldn't happen to know the oil requirements for your bike, would you? I'm about to do this on mine and will have to know how much it's too have once reassembling it. Also have an 01 600. If you know and don't mind sharing it, it would be appreciated
hey. your video has been really helpful! I was wondering what values you had for the level of the oil in the forks as you measure it from the top. I'm currently doing my 600f and I have the haynes manual but after filling the fork with 499cc of oil the depth is waaay off! i've made sure the fork is completely compressed as well.
Can you remove the calipers while the fender and wheel are still on the bike? Mine seemed like there wasn’t enough room to come out. Can I remove the wheel with the calipers still bolted up? Also how do you remove the speedo gauge so can take axel out.
Hola Se puede cambiar el aceite de las horquillas quitando el tornillo que hay en la parte inferior de las botellas y rellenando por arriba sin necesidad de desmontar las barras?
I've got a 91 Katana that I'm building and as a bigger guy (300lb) I replaced the rear shock with one that was more appropriate for my weight but in comparison the front feels a bit mushy now, I wouldn't be surprised if my forks need a rebuild (checking them today) but my question is, for someone my size do you think rebuilding the stock forks is worth it or do you think I should find something slightly stiffer, whether you answer or not, good video, keep up the good work
@@MattsMotoWoRX all it had me enter was the bike info, nothing about my weight, but that did lead me to another site called (Raggedmoto.com) that let me put in my bike style (sport, adv, cruiser) riding habits (cruising, street, fast street, race) personal weight, and bike weight, which left me at ≈1.12 kg/mm but the highest I can find with a proper fit is 1.0kg/mm, I'm just gonna try those and put the mid recommended grade fork oil in, if that doesn't feel alright I guess I'll see what I can find as a full front end swap to make things easy, I'm just trying to get back on 2 before the beautiful summer riding weather is over
What size is your fork seal driver for this build? Is it the same size for a 2004 Katana 750?Can you recommend a single driver tool (amazon, ebay, or etc.)?Can you recommend a fork seal driver set?
Yes it's the same , just make sure you compress the shock and fill oil to 108 mm(Gsx600F) from top with out the spring in place. Tight coil of spring go's to the bottom on the 600, hope this helps
bernalglez the kit is an all balls kit here’s a link for the proper seals hope this helps. Thanks for checking out the video. www.allballsracing.com/56-132.html
Help! I don't know where to position the floor jack to lift up the front end. Is it pressing against the exhaust or oil pan in the video? No clear place on the frame to put the jack against.
Hey man, what to do when the bottom drain plug only goes around and wont come out? I did the other fork without any problem but now i cant remove the bottom plug! Feels like its only turning inside! Its a Suzuki gsx 750 F -1997! Thanks

Should i mark the two triple clamps before i take the forks out? Like a marker line or something so i get them in the same place?

Would the 2000 600cc katana hold the same amount of oil?? Everyone online seems to have a different answer
What are all the parts required to buy to replace the fork seals?
What's the size of your steel driver using it on your fork seal? thank you.
I have a 2006 suzuki gsx600f what size driver is that your using?
Hi would u know is there a fuel pump in the 2001 750f models . If so where please
do you absolutely need the tool you use to push the seal down in the lower fork ? I want to give this a go but i don’t have that tool
You can probably get away with a piece of piece of pvc and the old seal to push the new one on 🤷🏻♂️
Is this the same for the 600 model?
👍👍👍
Do you know how much cost to fix.

Hop on racetech.com and enter your info into their suspension calculator and it will give you the proper oil viscosity and spring rates you need

What size is the extended allen key set? And what can I do if the allen key to release the parts inside the spring won't release?
Metal Head Ritro If you can’t get the bottom bolt loose find someone that has an impact. Sometimes the assembly inside will spin.
Metal Head Ritro It’s either a 5mm or 6mm Allen
is it worth buying this bike in 2024? I dont wanna get to a situation where I Cant find spares for it
Would this same procedure work with a 1998 susuki katana 600?

I take a rag or 2x4 under the exhaust
@@MattsMotoWoRX thanks.. I'm just using 2 car jacks on both sides of the frame

Are they standard or metric Allen sockets?
They should be metric unless someone installed the wrong bolts
