ADF | Exercise Super Garuda Shield - Combined Arms Training

- At the invitation of Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), Australia is contributing over 125 personnel from the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to Exercise Super Garuda Shield 2023 (SGS23).
SGS23 is a TNI and United States Indo Pacific Command led bilateral training activity. It is focused on joint operations with international partners in and around East Java in Indonesia from 31 August to 13 September.
Held since 2009, the ADF first participated in 2022, and in 2023 is contributing an Australian Army force element including a Troop of M1A1 Abrams tanks from the 1st Armoured Regiment.
The contingent also includes an Infantry Platoon from the 10th/27th Battalion, Royal South Australian Regiment, command and control elements, and a range of armoured vehicles, trucks and recovery vehicles.

even though it's called a 'shield' exercise, but...
it turns out it wasn't a defensive exercise at all
it was a full-scale offensive military operation imo 😅
this would definitely trigger criticism from 'the red' team lol
Just like previous Garuda Shield last year, expect one particular country to get mad and complain to all the participant,expecially to the U.S over this exercise🤣

Don’t mess with the lads
Hope the OTs / DS spoke to the TNI re getting so close to the tank. If it had to fire to support them, many would have concussion and / or hearing damage.
I don't think it is very close. If i have to guess on 0:45, their distance to the tank still around 10 meters/11-12 yards away. Close indeed, but not way too close.

United States an Indonesia with five other nations Australia isn't the main act like United States an Indonesia, yet it'd be good if our troops can learn to understand the communication between one another,I consider a universal code language for all to learn rather than learning each other's language, the language barrier could be something troops focus on
I think intelligence building between nations in a way that integrate those nations of efforts to a bond that it's about nations surrendering to a new common cause, specilist soldier
