What do you think about damage thresholds in 5e?

I think that threshold is set by the table. The Dm has to adjust to the characters scaling. If everyone else is throwing eldritch blast, that’s the baseline. But if your tables damage dealer is a rogue, then the baseline is there.

While you're giving the descriptive introduction, you could show us a video of some gameplay going down, you know like many people talking about their tips in video games.
"We'll be talking about some basic tips to improve at Rocket League."
*Rocket League gameplay goes on while they're talking.
I hope you appreciate the joke! Honestly though, this is nicely in-depth. I can easily address this when looking at basic damage numbers at all levels, along with RED.

Glad you found it useful! I enjoyed reading RED as a damage principle, and is something I've informally used as a yardstick for years, but I don't think I'll be using the full RED thing much.
As for the video I appreciate the suggestion, and it's something I may do in the future. My main issues at the moment are my older PC struggling with editing software, and justifying the time and effort for something that it just a hobby at the moment.
