Die Straßenbahn in Sarajevo wurde in den vergangenen Jahren saniert, dies betraf bis zur Erstellung des Videos die komplette Infrastruktur. Erst wenige Tage vor den Filmaufnahmen wurde die Komplettstrecke zwischen Baščaršija und Ilidža wieder für den Straßenbahnverkehr freigegeben.
Allerdings wurde in der vergangenen Zeit bereits ein Großteil des Fuhrparks verschrottet um Platz für die inzwischen in Auslieferung stehende neue Niederflurgeneration zu schaffen. Bisher prägten die alten Tatra K2, KT8D5, sowie Duwag GT8 das Stadtbild, bevor sich auch dieser Anblick ändern wird, sollte mit den Altbauwagen nocheinmal dieser Film entstehen, welcher von Ost nach West sortiert ist.
Aufgrund von Wagenmangel konnte zum Besuchszeitpunkt allerdings nur die Linie 3 auf der Komplettstrecke betrieben werden, die Verstärkerlinien 2, 5 und 6 wurden durch Busse ersetzt. Der kurze Linienast zum Bahnhof (Linie 1 und 4) befand sich damals noch in Rekonstruktion.

Ооо, экзотика появилась снова!))) Похоже в Сараево с 2017 года ничего особо не поменялось, разве что пути трамвайные отремонтировали вроде как на многих участках.
p.s. Набережная в Сараево очень романтичная и красивая. Мечтаю побывать там.
В последние годы в Сараево прошла большая реконструкция.

It's nice that they are restoring and expanding the tram network. Let's hope that the new Stadler Tango trams will soon be running on the streets of Sarajevo. The older non-refurbished Tatras seem to be in pretty bad shape... If I saw correctly, only one of the three Tatras KT8D5 was in traffic when you filmed. Beautiful video as always, Dani! 👍
Thanks a lot! Yes, i was also surprised about begin of extension to Hrasnica. Now the first Stadlertram arrived and it will be interesting how it will be in service. But iam shocked, about scrapping of trams last years. So i think that a lot of older trams must be in service also together with new trams. Only line 3 was in service with trams, other tramlines served by busses, because no more trams are avaiable. yes, only one KT8D5 was in service this days of visit.
@@KT4DaniAre they really scrapping the trams without replacement? What a shame. You can buy a used tram from a Czech city for about 1500 EUR in a very good shape, if you get luck! I have seen people buying them and placing them into their gardens as decorations or just collecting them for fun. What a waste, if you consider it. There was a case, when a Czech city (I think it was either Prague or Ostrava) was even willing to donate their trams, but found nobody willing to transport them.
I wonder it there may be other factors for replacing the trams with busses. Like in Russia, where Mashrutka mafia systematically sabotaged the trams so that mashrutkas became the only option.
Yes, in last years a lot of trams will scrapped in Sarajevo without any replacement. Now only line 3 is in service with trams, other lines must be solved by busses. So in next months new lowfloortrams will arrive...i hope the situation will be better step by step in future for Sarajevo and something will changed in GRAS-company.
@@KT4Dani Осенью 2024-го должны вновь открыть 6-й маршрут (Скендерия - Илиджа), а немного позднее, после завершения всех работ по реконструкции линии на ж-д вокзал, будут восстановлены 1 (Башчаршия - Железнодорожный вокзал) и 4 (Железнодорожный вокзал - Илиджа) маршруты.
При тех планах развития трамвая в Сараеве, там нужно строить более крупное депо, а не оставлять то маленькое по территории, которое имеется в настоящее время.

Your videos are great for finding interesting tram systems in obscure locations that tourists don't normally visit. Your videos inspired me to visit Kharkiv and Gotha which are very interesting systems. There is a big variation in the quality of trams systems around the world. I personally don't like the systems where the tram runs on the street the entire way as it doesn't do anything better than a bus. I prefer the mixed mode systems where the tram can act as different transport types and have express sections, (such as Cologne, Chemnitz, Kassel, Karlsruhe, Porto, Paris T11). But I also enjoy very obscure country side trams such as Gotha. I have wanted to visit Sarajevo for years. I never knew Sarajevo is a surf city, now I want to go even more! I prefer the surf citys that don't have a reputation for surfing as they don't have loads of English urbexers visiting just to surf the trams, which usually leads to the authorities cracking down on it. For example Lisbon used to be a surf city until so many people were doing it that they removed the handles from the trams. At the moment Prauge is turning into the surf capital of the EU, but I can't see it lasting for much longer, again too many people are doing it on mass.
Thank you! Its nice to read, that my videos inspirate to travel to different cities with trams. Everyone has a special preference, I like systems where the tram runs on the street and in the landscape, but also through industrial facilities. Every city is unique in the end and I love visiting all of them. Unfortunately, the Tatra trams are becoming fewer and fewer. Sarajevo will soon change too, as the first new trams are currently being delivered.

Зато у трамваев хорошее техническое состояние. Плюс, огромное разнообразие вагонов, от одиночных до сочлененных. То есть, GTS (Gradski Transport Sarajeva) готов как к большими, так и к малым пасс.потокам

Хотелось бы потому что здесь много чего интересного а также редкие и эксклюзивные модели трамваев например Tatra T3M.05 или КТМ-5ВП, также насколько я помню тут можно побывать в трамвайном и троллейбусном депо.

Finally again in Sarajevo, glad to see you visited our beloved city. You should come when new Stadler trams arrive and make new video. We have new trolleys too. Our biggest problem was old railway that was built in 1970sa nd 80s. That was priority to be changed. Now that we have done that arrival of new 15 trams with old ones which are working will help public transport connection in the city. Also in December it is announced that 10 new Stadler trams are order and they will arrive this or next year. So we will have 25 fully new trams with 10-15 older. For current needs I think it is enough. But when new line to Hrasnica gets finished in 2 years around 10 new trams will be needed to cover that capacity. I think we will buy them as well when everything completed. Also new tram lines are in plans to Dobrinja, and Vogosca. So we will se what future brings.
It was after 2010, 2011 and 2014 my fourth visit in Sarajevo, i like this city very much. But i'll unhappy to see how much trams were scrapped last years and how is the situation now. The tracks are renovated very good and i hope that new trams are good option for Sarajevo. So a question, its 100% that 10 more trams ordered? I only know from 15 orders of first contract. But it will be good, when they added more. :-)
@@KT4Dani Bad management of the Public transport company GRAS and people working there made decisions to scrap and sold lots of old trams to junk yards. Those trams could have been renovated but there was no good will to do it. Those trams were used for spare parts and left to be destroyed by weather. Yes it is true. Canton Sarajevo Ministry of transportation announced last month that we will be buying 10 more Stadler trams. One tram arrived last month and we are waiting for him to be tested and put in use. Cant wait to sit in new tram. They look amazing. It will be true experience, new trams on new railway🤗
Oh nice to read, that contract for new trams added to 25. :-) I hope that the future of GRAS will be success...i dont unterstand so any decision last years and why scrap some of good Tatra trams. Now some trams are missing and the trams in service are in some parts in very bad condition. I hope for you, that you can enjoy new trams so fast as possible and have a positive adventure. :-)

You caught the last glimpse of dying bread of old trams. Those old trams were scrapped because they were in too bad condition, now after signing an agreement with Stadler the total precurement of new trams will be 25 units. Also when 25 trams arrive there is a plan to get even more new units. Also there is a signed contract for reconstruction of tram depo works have started, and the local government also bought new servicing equipment from Stadler that's gonna be in the new reconstructed depot. I also saw that someone asked you about the tickets, there is a new system in the process of making, new app with GPS tracking and NFC payment, also new monthly cards are NFC payment type ones. New regular cards for one drive will be qr code type ones so you can app or get it from the driver. Parts of the system could be seen in your videos with tablets next to the driver and new vending machines inside of the vehicles. Regarding trolleys there is new money available for 15 more units and it will be Solaris or skoda because bkm hasn't proved very reliable and procurement of spare parts is really hard for them. That was the only mistake for buying those trolleys that's why in the next two years we will get replacement solaris ones
Tram network will be extended to Šip not Vogošća though, but you do have a point there, also I've read about plans of extending tram network through places Rajlovac, Azići, but I think that's impossible and also the only path on which tracks could lead to Dobrinja is blocked by a lot of buildings so that is also technically impossible, unless all those buildings are malled to the ground

Leider für mich, war ich in Sarajevo in August letzten Jahres während des Linienabschieds, deshalb konnte ich kein Straßenbahn in Stadtzentrum genießen :(.

Sehr schönes Video! Wie ist das mit dem Tarifsystem inzwischen gelöst? Als ich im Sommer 2022 dort war, gab es Magnetstreifen-Einzelfahrkarten beim Fahrer und mit Viel Glück händisch ausgefüllte Tageskarten an den kleinen Verkaufshäuschen. An der damals in Rekonstruktion befindlichen Strecke sah ich allerdings Bahnsteigsperren! Wie kauft man da jetzt Tickets und welche gibts noch?
Vielen Dank! Das Taridsystem kenne ich inzwischen seit 15 Jahren nur als totalen Irrsinn. Einzeltickets gibt es beim Fahrer. Ich allerdings hatte es immer auf Tageskarten abgesehen und diese gab es (wenn überhaupt) immer nur an den kleinen Kiosken entlang der Strecke. Im Jahr 2023 aber war es schon etwas besser, da fand man binnen einer Stunde ein Lädchen mit Tageskarten...früher suchte man da schon sehr lange. Bahnsteigsperren gibt es nur am Endpunkt in Ilidza und an einer Unterwegshaltestelle...diese sind aber nur mehr Schein als Sein.

Hi, beautiful video! So you've been making footage there for six days there, and one KT8D5 (534), nine K2 (511, 514, 516, 518, 519, 523, 525, 526, 566), seven GT8 (553, 556, 558, 561, 565, 575, 576) and two Satras (548, ?) were the only trams, that appeared in service? Do you know if these are the only trams still in service and all the others are scrapped/out of service? Or are there any other left?

yes, all trams in service are visable in this movie. Some stay in Depot (2x KT8) and some GT8. But a lot were scrapped last months/years. So now some lines are in service with busses...crazy.
Also, at least 1 Satra II was in service in August, if I'm not mistaken
@@dozenazer1811 yes, at my day of arrival i see also one Satra II on line 3, but later and following days never in service.
Hallo, schön mal wieder was neues von dir zu sehen! Ja, die Gleise sehen jetzt super aus, aber die Fahrzeuge sind es wirklich fast alle in einem sehr desolaten Zustand. Vor allem die nocht modernisierten K2. Haben die hinten breitere Türflügel, ahnlich wie beim T2 an der ersten und dritten Tür? Ist mir so bisher beim K2 noch nie aufgefallen. Interessant auch die "Runterrüstung" der KT8D5 zum Einrichter durch Abbau vom zweiten Stromabnehmer und den nur Rückleuchten/Blinker in die Gehäuse der Frontscheinwerfer. Die linken Türen zuzusetzen war dannaber wohl zu aufwendig. Eigenartige Stromabnehmer trils auch - da fragst duch, warum nicht gleich nur eine Halbschere drauf ist, statt quasi zwei halbe zusammengesetzte. Bin ich nal gespannt, wenn dann hoffentlich die Niederflurtrams kommen und ob es da vielleicht doch noch mehr werden. Eigentlich fließen ja genug EU Gelder, aber wer weiß wo die überall "verabzweigt" werden...
Hallo, ja so manches Dinge brauchen Zeit. Es liegt Material für mehrere Videos bereit, doch die Zeit daran muss man ersteinmal woanders finden. Es ist ein Hobby und andere Dinge sind da wichtiger.
Ja, die Tatra K2 haben breitere Türen an der Stelle 2 und 3, dies zieht sich dann auch über die gegenüberliegenden Fenster, welche auch breiter ausgeführt sind. Die Tatra KT8D5 waren auch in Most und Brno zeitweise als Einrichter unterwegs, dort wurden die Einstiegsbereiche genau so zugebaut...für diesen Wagentyp sogesehen die Standartlösung. Die Stromabnehmer stammen noch aus den Zeiten der Amsterdamer Gebrauchtwagen, diese fanden nach deren Ausmusterung dann den Weg auf andere Wagentypen.

yes, i rode in some of the newer trolleybusses, but they are run very special...i was little shocked about this "quality". I think they dont be so long years in service, like older models.
@@KT4Dani its very hard go get parts from bkm now so a few of them arent working at all while some dont even have their displays working, no one applied to the tender for 10 new trolleybuses yet because they cancelled from bkm. Before they came some officials said that sarajevo might even need to expand some streets because of the bkms , i think they werent best choice but the only other choices were turkish and chinese while solaris didnt apply because of the price and automomus battery
Sehr interessant. War 2014 mit einer Gruppenreise dort. Hatten eine Sonderfahrt mit dem letzten PCC ex USA, den sie damals noch hatten und der für Sonderfahrten vermietet wurde. Frage: Wurden denn so viele neue Wagen bestellt, dass sie alle alten Wagen verschrotten können? Wenn die alle Linien betreiben wollen, brauchen sie sehr viele Wagen. Nach meiner Erinnerung reicht da die Anzahl bestellter Neuwagen nirgends hin? Wurden evtl. noch zusätzliche Wagen nachbestellt? Bleibt evtl. ein Teil der alten Wagen noch in Betrieb?
Den PCC-Wagen gibt es noch...dieser steht aber inzwischen seit vielen Jahren unbewegt hinter nördlichen Halle und macht einen verwahrlosten Eindruck. Es sind nur 15 Neuwagen bestellt und wie sich das ganze einmal darstellen soll, entzieht sich meiner Vorstellungskraft. Im Betrieb selbst spricht man davon sämtliche Altwagen abzustellen, doch schon jetzt wurde viel verschrottet und mit dem aktuellen Bestand kann man nicht einmal den Fahrplanauslauf der Linie 3 bedienen. Die anderen Linien wurden durch Busse betrieben. Also meiner Meinung nach müsste die Bestandsflotte erhalten bleiben, um einigermaßen hinterherzukommen...doch die K2 sind allesamt total durch. Aber was GRAS am Ende für ein Ziel verfolgt, bleibt abzuwarten...mit Logik kommt man in Sarajevo leider nie wirklich zu einem Resultat.
@@KT4Dani Vielen Dank für diese interessanten Infos. Habe ich es doch irgendwie richtig im Kopf gehabt mit der Anzahl Neuwagen. Schade um den PCC-Wagen. Wurde seinerzeit einmal restauriert, darum konnten wir auch
mit ihm fahren. Er erlitt zwar auch einen Defekt und wurde dann samt uns als Passagieren vom nachfolgenden Wagen bis zur Endstation hinaus gestossen und in das dortige Stumpengleis gestellt. Während unseres Aufenthaltes konnte er dann tatsächlich repariert werden, und wir konnten mit ihm wieder zurück fahren.
Das ist schön zu lesen, dass der PCC doch nochmal aktiv gewesen ist und dass für Euch solch ein Aufwand betrieben wurde. Das ist inzwischen fast nichtmehr zu glauben, denn der Verkehrsbetrieb scheint irgendwie für die Historie nicht viel übrig zu haben. Wünschenswert wäre es, wenn die historischen Wagen mal irgendwann wieder aufgearbeitet werden...wichtig ist aber erstmal der weitere Erhalt.
@@KT4Dani Wir hatten damals einen lokalen Eisenbahnfreak, der alles für uns organisierte. Nach dem 1. Fotohalt wollte der Wagen nicht mehr weiterfahren. Eine Aufsicht kam mit dem Dienstauto angerast. Man nahm kurzerhand den nächsten Kurswagen, hiess dort die Fahrgäste aussteigen, verbindete die beiden Wagen mittels Kupplungsstange, und schon gings weiter. Die Strecke war kaum länger als 10 Minuten unterbrochen, und die Fahrgäste, die aussteigen mussten, mussten bei der dichten Kursfolge auch nicht lange warten. Schau mal, wie lange bei uns die Strecke unterbrochen ist, wenn ein Wagen stehen bleibt. Die restlichen Fotohalte holten wir dann auf der Rückfahrt nach. Viele waren auf Grund des dichtenn Fahrplans ohnehin nicht möglich.
@@KT4Dani Mittlerweile wurde verlautbart, dass weitere zehn Stadler-Tango-Neuwagen bestellt wurden. Soviel ich weiß, muss Sarajevo an die 60 Fahrzeuge haben, um alle Linien ausreichend gut zu bedienen. Sie können nicht alle Altwagen verschrotten. Meines Erachtens müsste man etwa mit einer tschechischen Stadt wie Prag in Verhandlungen treten und von ihnen ein paar alte und gut erhaltene Tatra T3-Wagen abkaufen. Die einheimischen K2 sind wirklich fast am Ende. Vielleicht können noch bis fünf Wagen für die kommenden ein paar Jahre gerettet werden. Die Düwags sind in einem ein bisschen besseren Zustand, auch die Satras können noch ein paar Jährchen aushalten.

@Kt4dani you should definetly come to Iași Romania when you have the time and money. Sadly a lot of trams were scrapped recently but we still have a lot of Gt4s in service and some Gt8 and M8C/M6D trams. There are also new ones made by Pesa and Bozankaya but personally I hate those. The old ones are the best.

The trams come from the Czechoslovakian manufacturer Tatra. But used Duewag from Germany (via Türkiye) are also in use.

Bitteschön. Naja, das liegt nicht daran...in Sarajevo hat man sich nie wirklich um die Wagen gekümmert...da sahen alle Wagen auch in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten immer sehr schmuddelig aus. Ich bin gespannt, wie man sich dann um die Neuwagen kümmern wird...aber was einmal in der Mentalität festgesetzt ist...

Сараево необычный город с многовековой историей , во время войны в Боснии и Герцеговине многие пути трамваев были разрушены , также там происходила резня
Так печально, что все трамваи внутри изрисованы... Можно же как-то поаккуратнее.
Таково общество... никто не заботится о чужой собственности. :-(

У меня в Киеве трамваи лучше. Они не обклеены на весь кузов рекламой, в них есть валидаторы и граффити явно меньше чем в Сараево. И трамваи новые у нас, а старые в отличном состоянии, никогда их ржавыми либо же сломанными не увидишь.

но несколько лет назад в Киеве тоже были ржавые и заброшенные трамваи. Я много раз был в Киеве и был шокирован состоянием трамваев. Но это было несколько лет назад - теперь в Киеве есть современные трамваи.
