Thanks for sharing. That had to be a difficult period in your life. It’s great to see that you made it through and have continued to find joy in our game of golf.
MSH, many of us watch your videos for tips, info and entertainment. I can promise almost all of us also watch because of your personality and the way you carry yourself. You seem like a guy we would all love to be friends with, so yes we do care about what goes on and has happened to lead you to where you are today. That said, thank you and God bless 🤘😎
It’s always great to hear the back store of person in front of the camera. Hard times produce great men and you sir, unknowingly have inspired someone out there who watches your Chanel(me in particular). Keep up the great work. Thank you.
MSH - great video. I had a coach like that in highschool that really shaped me into the person I am today. I even followed him in his footsteps and I am a high school teacher now. I'm so glad I got to tell him in person a couple of years ago how much he meant to me. Have a great Christmas!!
Seems like golf and especially your coach as an early mentor, have helped shape you into a very giving person. You brought back fun memories for me. I played high school golf graduating in 1975. I played the Hogan Woods with the old speed slot. I’m sure your mother and grandmother are smiling down on the wonderful person., you are. Thanks for what you do.
Great video, MSH. I also played high school golf and captained my team my senior year. My coach did the same things your coach did. Picked me up at school and dropped me off at home for four years. To prepare for State, we would get together on a Saturday and play 18 holes of match play. I loved my coach. I missed out making State all four years. My senior year looked like I was going to make it until a double, triple, double on holes 12-14 places me in a playoff for second alternate spot which I lost by leaving a 10 foot par putt hanging on the lip. I only played one amateur event after high school, when I tried qualifying for my State Open. I put up a 100 in a qualifying round. Couldn't hit my hat. I was so embarrassed that I retired from competitive golf at 19. I will be 40 next year, and plan on starting up again. It is videos like yours that give me the urge to do the thing I used to love--compete.
My favorite video ever on your channel. Thank you so much for sharing- your story is beyond words. I don’t even know what say , except thank you, love your golf and you really are an outstanding player!! Hope your holiday season has been a nice one.
I know I appreciate your honesty and integrity in all your videos. You overcame tragedy and nobody should judge you for being an open book on such a profound story. Thank you MSH. I have my dad’s old set from early 70’s and their lofts were about 2-1/2 clubs weaker than the Cleveland TA5’s I played around 1996. Jack Nicklaus and his era were able to hit drivers 260-300 with that style driver. You played well with those. Thanks for the video and hope your Holidays are filled with joy.
WoW MSH, sorry to hear this. I can't imagine. Good to see you being strong this tragic time in your life and Golf seems like an outlet. Stay strong my brother!!
Old clubs?!? Think of all the $$$$$s you could have saved! You were blessed to have coach’s words of encouragement and help - your coach reminds me of my dad! I think you are wrong that we aren’t interested in your story. You are a friend to us and we respect and care about you. Merry Christmas
MSH what a moving and appropriate video for a Christmas day! Thank you for sharing your life with us and makes me appreciate your journey in life. My best to you and your family for the holiday season.
This was fun to watch..I found an old 5 wood at goodwill for 75 cents and I actually hit it better than my new 5 wood and its super fun to use!! Hope your Christmas was awesome !!
Really nice video. Thankful for your channel, you and your coach. The sound that driver and 3-wood made was awesome. Be interesting to see the professionals play with these wooden clubs like the professional baseball players do.
First and foremost I love seeing a ball striker like MSH hit vintage equipment. Second, this was a family favorite for all us Legan’s as we all have known MSH for years! From my whole family Merry Christmas MSH 🙌🏻🎄⛳️
That's a real life changing tragedy in your life. Very sorry for that loss in your early years. It's amazing how quickly good players adapt to different clubs. The irons and putter were great. "Hit'em straight"
Thanks for sharing some of your story. Losing your mom like that could have taken you in a lot of directions. But with good people in your life and family and your determination you’ve done very well. Have a safe and happy holiday and keep hitting them semi straight :)
Merry Christmas to my favorite RUclipsr. May you have a better year ahead. Oh WOW! I'm sorry about your Mom but she would've and is proud of the person you've become
I use persimmon woods to this day. Unfortunately the golf balls of today, with solid cores, are designed not to spin with long clubs. You will need to tee it down real close to the ground and make an effort to strike down on the modern ball to keep it in the air. These clubs are great fun and very playable. I am however in the UK and play at a coastal links golf course. This allows the ball to run out quite a bit because the carry distance is certainly limited
Merry Christmas MSH! I am looking forward to watching this one later. Edit: Watched it last night and really enjoyed this one. The iron distance differences could be from a few things imho.....lofts not matching modern loft numbers and the fact that coaches clubs are blades will cause the ball to lose quite a bit of distance with less than perfect center hits. The modern irons are more forgiving for sure. But more interesting for me were the persimmons woods results. Great stuff MSH! On another note, I'm real sorry about your mom. That had to be a very difficult thing to go through as a young man,my gosh!
Dont forget they were using balata balls back then, I loved those.. then the Titleist professional 90comp my all time favorite ball .. wish they would make a wound ball with a modern day core and cover.
You're wrong about one thing. Your faithful followers do care and are interested! I can't imagine what your loss must have been like. Sadly it happens too often. She would be so proud of you now. Great you had your coach for support and guidance. Very special video. Thanks for sharing. And someone was a good boy this year. Like the new Deedaz golf sneakers!
I'm sorry for the loss of your mother. I lost mine to cancer when I was 33 and it was a crushing blow, but cannot imagine what it was like for you. During the first part of the video I was actually wondering how you'd gotten into golf. What sparked the interest and who nurtured it in you. It seems a part of the answer is your coach. He sounds like a wonderful man. Every young person should have a wise and understanding adult they can trust, but lamentably it seems in our modern times to have become a rarity. And we are worse off for it. Anyway, Merry Christmas 🎄 and Happy New Year! 🥳
